We stumbled across this place whilst camping at Montebello, we were at the hardware store nearby and decided to check it out. We purchased some coffee, cheese, olives and bread. We had great customer service from the lovely women inside. It gives Paris cafe vibes. Cute and kitschy, we will definitely be back to try the dinner menu. The ingredients are locally sourced, and the cheese was perfect with the bread and olives.

Very cute and cozy French bistro. The menu varies and everything is tasty. Large wine selection. There’s also a small market in front where you can get cheeses, baguettes, locally made goods and of course, wine.

Quaint little resturant, wine bar with a varied menu and large wine selection. Fits in nicely with the rural area, where is located

Cute little road side place for pastries cheese, wine and coffee. Service is a little slow, but in fairness we were a large group, and it was just the owner acting as a barista (3 star for speed, not necessarily service). But if you're not in a rush, that's totally ok; just be mindful, it isn't a in/out quick cuppa. But super cute location - inside and out. Check out the jam and English muffins for purchase, yummy.

We've been there several times for both dinner and happy hour. The service is excellent and very friendly and the food is wonderful. We especially love that the wine is recommended to go with the meal you ordered. We've also loved talking to the musicians and occasionally the folks at adjacent tables.

Stopped and got a Frangipane blondie and mini apple pie. Both were so good
Absolutely delicious, healthy food in rustic setting. The service was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back!!
People here love to make great food. A small, ancient house services as a wine and cheese shop and a restaurant with about 6 tables. Limited menu with daily creations. Check the was site for hours and daily hours. If you are on Rt 151 and the flag is up, stop by. Food is always a taste treat.

Mother's Day brunch had very limited choices. The eggs Benedict were a disappointment. The service was sketchy as well.
The loveliest restaurant ever!! Vibe is so cute, service is excellent, and the food is delicious! Their bread and cheese is to die for. I think I’d live here if they let me!
Basic Necessities is a charming gem in Nellysford, offering an inviting atmosphere and a thoughtfully curated selection of gourmet foods, wines, and gifts. The staff is warm and knowledgeable, creating a delightful experience whether you're stopping in for a meal or browsing their unique offerings. A must-visit for locals and travelers alike!
I have visited quite a few times in the last year. I think this is a great spot for lunch and a good cappuccino! They have some really good sandwiches as well. I’ve had the French grill cheeses, Turkey panini, and some delicious desserts. They also have wine to go and other things.
A joy to stop in to. Food was great, wonderful wine selection, and staff and setting were top notch. Definitely not family friendly, the dining area is one small room with 6 or so tables, which was nice. Would absolutely stop back in, this place was great. Unsure of the person complaining on portion size, I took half my sandwich with me.
