A hidden gem! Excellent service, divine cheeses, great bread, good wine. A little quaint mountain escape.

Update 2026

I used to love this place! It's quaint, simple, and used to have better food.

Before covid, you could get a beautiful plate of cheese and pate with cornichons, crispy baguette, and a decent entree. The cheeses that they now serve are the same ones you can get at Kroger. Nothing special. The baguette was soft and not crispy at all. The grilled cheese had so much raw garlic on it that it ruined my appetite. The soup was fine and the wine was great. Service was wildly slow! We waited over 45 minutes for the cheese tray to come out and there were only three other tables who were all already eating when we arrived.

I want this place to return to how it used to be! I'm not sure if it was sold or what but it's lost its charm, at least in the food arena. I'm willing to sit and wait if I can get a cheese plate with exquisite cheese and the proper balance of pickle and meaty pates. If they're going to serve subpar baguettes, at least toast them. The grilled cheese sandwich could have used some pickle or something, it was just garlic and tons of what tasted like cheap cheddar cheese.

It used to be a place that really reminded you of France, now it just it's like you're eating at someone's house with their knock off charcuterie.

Please try to return to your roots!

Sadly disappointing.

We were very excited to try this place. We frequent several breweries in Nellysford area, we were on a date night and had been wanting to go here. So we gave it a try.

We were sorely disappointed. We spent over $100, ordered an appetizer, and two entrees and left starving. The pasta dish was definitely made with the cheapest pasta any other restaurant purchases, with a few pieces of shrimp and crushed tomatoes. On top of that it was cold. We were the only ones in the restaurant at this time, so there was no reason for it to be cold. There was no flavor, and the portion was so small. More of an appetizer than a meal.

We love to support small business, and we really wanted to love this place.

It's a favorite for long-timers in Nelson County for a reason. Excellent food and service. Great wine, cheese, and bread selection in the shop. Always friendly folks working.

Have to give the owner and staff a huge thank you for putting together an incredibly tasty take-out dinner for myself and seven guests we had up to Wintergreen on the very, very busy MLK weekend. Food was excellently prepared and very carefully packed for our trip back up the mountain.

Really appreciate that there's always a strong vegetarian option on the menu at all times.

Beautiful hole in the wall restaraunt. The music was great and the decor was fantastic, felt like france in the Blue Ridge! Good and service equally as fantastic with a creatively curated menu. Recommend!!

We stumbled across this place whilst camping at Montebello, we were at the hardware store nearby and decided to check it out. We purchased some coffee, cheese, olives and bread. We had great customer service from the lovely women inside. It gives Paris cafe vibes. Cute and kitschy, we will definitely be back to try the dinner menu. The ingredients are locally sourced, and the cheese was perfect with the bread and olives.

Very cute and cozy French bistro. The menu varies and everything is tasty. Large wine selection. There’s also a small market in front where you can get cheeses, baguettes, locally made goods and of course, wine.

Quaint little resturant, wine bar with a varied menu and large wine selection. Fits in nicely with the rural area, where is located

Cute little road side place for pastries cheese, wine and coffee. Service is a little slow, but in fairness we were a large group, and it was just the owner acting as a barista (3 star for speed, not necessarily service). But if you're not in a rush, that's totally ok; just be mindful, it isn't a in/out quick cuppa. But super cute location - inside and out. Check out the jam and English muffins for purchase, yummy.

We've been there several times for both dinner and happy hour. The service is excellent and very friendly and the food is wonderful. We especially love that the wine is recommended to go with the meal you ordered. We've also loved talking to the musicians and occasionally the folks at adjacent tables.

Stopped and got a Frangipane blondie and mini apple pie. Both were so good

People here love to make great food. A small, ancient house services as a wine and cheese shop and a restaurant with about 6 tables. Limited menu with daily creations. Check the was site for hours and daily hours. If you are on Rt 151 and the flag is up, stop by. Food is always a taste treat.

Mother's Day brunch had very limited choices. The eggs Benedict were a disappointment. The service was sketchy as well.
