When it comes to barbecue and Mexican food there seems to be an inverse relationship to how good the place looks on the outside to how good the food tastes on the inside.

Blue Ridge pig is a prime example .

What was probably an old car wash has been creatively repurposed into a standup barbecue joint with some pretty creative venue items.

We were directed to try the turkey croissant sandwich as they are quintessential menu item, as well as as their traditional pork sandwich.

The turkey sandwich did not disappoint . It was a unique blend of flavors that really stood out as something different though the pork sandwich was not unique. It was still solid and we were very pleased with it.

If you’re driving by, I need a bite to eat don’t be afraid to stop in!

Exceptional BBQ, the overall vibe is great. Extremely dog friendly (even have a pup scrap cup and carabiners at tables for leashes).

We had a catering order with Blue Ridge Pig and Abbie was amazing to work with! She was responsive and so accommodating. The food was great, everyone was happy. The sweetest thing was meeting Abbie's dad who was so incredibly proud that she was just featured in the local news as one of Virginia's best BBQ spots. If you're in the area, check them out :)

We are so glad we stopped here. Awesome spot and delicious, quality food! Staff was super friendly. The potato salad with the dill was incredible, my husband can’t stop talking about it. We got bbq pork and chicken, which even our three year old scarfed down. And get the limeade!

Great simple takeout or set at the picnic tables for good BBQ. Service is from the window and was quick. I had the brisket which they had on Saturday. I got bake beets and potato salad. The brisket was very good and lots of it. I got four nice slices. The back beans were a little over cooked but I liked them. The potato salad was good and unique. It was a lite dill potato salad. Now I am not big on dill but I enjoyed it. My partner got the pulled pork Mack & cheese and the bake beans. He said he enjoyed it. It was a lot of food. Had the left overs for dinner. They also sold Pup Cups which had scrap Turkey and Chicken. Our Doxins lover the pup cups!

Years ago, this place was awesome. We went there on the 4th of July to try it again. I guess it has changed owners. Nothing was good. The pulled pork BBQ was bland (even after adding the barbeque sauce). My spouse had the ribs which were grisly and tasteless (with and without the sauce). The potato salad was green and the coleslaw had not mayonnaise in it all all. I would never eat there again. It is a shame when a local iconic restaurant is sold and looses all it's previous appeal. They don't even have briquet which used to be a staple there.

The food was slow to come out and I had really read the reviews closer, I should have just avoided the place.

The food looks good and is cooked well enough. The wife thought it was fine, but the only bbq sauces they have are all mustard based. A very strange lack of variety.

One of my favorite places to eat at while on 151. The food is amazing and set at a decent price. There's no inside seating, so make sure you go on a sunny day!
