Obviously, a rainy Monday is not a busy time at a winery, at least the customer side of it. My wife's plan was to restock our Vidal Blanc. My plan was to enjoy a glass while taking a break from the road. We sat outside under the tent/awning and admired the early fall scenery. I did notice the grapes were all picked & wondered how this year's vintage would turn out. We will have to see . . . on the next trip by.

Attended the jazz event this past weekend and while the band performance was excellent, the food accommodations sucked. We waited almost an hour to get our food which was cold and not edible and the only one bathroom stall was working. Unacceptable when you have a plan event that was advertised for months. Management should do better in the future if they want to continue hosting these types of events.

Just had a fabulous time with Miss Dianne at New Kent Winery. We didn’t know which wines to try first- she recommended the Meritage and Cab Franc. Both were fantastic, so we left with one bottle of each! Looking forward to another trip down to New Kent!

This is a cute spot and definitely recommend stopping here, as long as you understand what you're getting into. The 30bminute guided tasting was fine, but definitely felt rushed and left little time to actually feel like you could taste the wines. The water situation really is laughable. You're not allowed to bring your own water, but they charge you for bottled water. Strange an establishment who's primary function is to sell alcohol. The beers were, I thought, actually better than the wines overall. There is very little indoor seating, so be prepared to be in the heat. Like I said, not a bad place to stop, but be aware of the little things that make the visit less than ideal.

Had a great visit with Diane! She took the time to explain the grapes and wines. I would highly recommend visiting this winery for some delicious wines and a nice description of the grapes !

1st off let me start with saying this was a beautiful place with good wines. The reason for 3 stars was only because we felt rushed during our tasting tour. There was another couple who was having their 1st experience there as well and our person who was doing our tasting made us feel like we needed to hurry. We started talking to this couple and loved the conversation until the person pouring our wine made it feel like we should just focus on the tasting vs making new friends. We had planned on staying and buying some bottles and food, but honestly after this experience I dont think we will return. Its a shame because they had a lot of good wines.

They have a good selection of wines and beers to choose from. Service is always good. Have a kitchen, so you can order food and snacks. Make sure you eat it all, they don't have take home boxes and will tell you that you aren't allowed take any food of property. They have a nice covered porch and large outdoor area. Very pretty and always looks well taken care of. It's a good stop. You can even mark off the Beer Trail list, working towards your hat!

Got a red wine flight with one extra wine and a custom beer flight (between 3.25 and 3.75 a pour). Paid $50+ including tax. Not worth it for 1.5 Oz pours of wines... no prices given up front for the wine, so that's almost $40 for a flight of red wine? Insane! Plus all the wines tasted similar. Too similar. This is the first time I've been here since new ownership, they obviously dont put as much care into their wines as the previous. I could have bought a whole bottle for the price of that flight... ridiculous!

A great option for groups as there is a winery and brewery co-located here. I've enjoyed the White Merlot wine and Double Cut IPA here.

We visited this winery over the weekend and unfortunately had a very poor experience that I feel compelled to share.

The pricing here is excessive across the board - tastings, wine, and food are all overpriced for what you receive. What really shocked us was their policy on bringing any outside food or beverages. On a 102-degree day, they were turning people away at the door for carrying water bottles, yet they don't provide complimentary water inside. Instead, you're forced to pay $2.25 for bottled water or go thirsty. I've never encountered a business that serves alcohol without offering free water - it seems like a basic safety and hospitality standard.

Their tasting policy is unnecessarily restrictive. Despite my fiancé purchasing a full bottle of wine, they still refused to let me sample a third beer, strictly enforcing their 2-sample limit. This inflexibility was frustrating and ultimately cost them a sale, as I left without ordering anything.

The service felt cold and unwelcoming. Staff members were rigid about every policy with no consideration for customer satisfaction. They wouldn't even provide ice to keep our purchased wine bottle cool.

As for the food, I ordered sliders for $14 that were barely bite-sized and mediocre at best - definitely not worth the price.

The combination of high prices, inflexible policies, unfriendly service, and basic hospitality failures made for an unpleasant visit. There are many other excellent wineries in the area that actually care about their customers' experience. We'll definitely be taking our business elsewhere in the future.

Skip this one and head down the street to Jolene instead - much better experience all around.

You never know what to expect with East Coast wineries. These guys did not disappoint, standouts for us were the Merlot, Cab Franc, and Vidal Blanc. Beer was excellent as well with the Piwo being an exceptional standout. Kevin was super knowledgeable, and extremely accommodating. Definitely on my list to revisit when we come back down this way. 🤘🏻

One of my favorite VA wineries. They have wines for every palate. The owners and staff are so friendly, and the cat is a plus! The upstairs loft is spacious and the inside is cozy. The outside has abundant seating. The only thing I’d say I’d love to see added is charcuterie boards! But, they let you bring in whatever food you want, so that negates that!

Great selection of wines and beers. Gorgeous setting - good selection of appetizers. Definitely going back!

I enjoy going to this winery especially if I need a quick location near me to un-wine. lol The area is always clean and very welcoming. I love sitting outside with one of my favorite wines and soak it all in. The scenery is nice on a sunny day and very comfortable solo or with friends. The food is good and the people who also come visit is nice to talk too.

We visited while it was raining and discovered that the indoor seating is a windowless cinder block room in the basement. We didn't try the wine but the beer is mostly awful with some nearing drinkable. We got some (very mediocre) soft pretzels, and the cheese that came with them was pretty inedible. Hard to think someone could try much less than this.
