Went for lunch on Friday November 28. The service was slow and took us almost 15 minutes to get our drinks and upon talking to the waitress it was very apparent she was intoxicated and could not do her job. While we were waiting for food she repeatedly missed orders took orders to the wrong tables and dropped plates of food. It was so bad her fellow waitresses were publicly telling her to straighten up. When our food arrived it was terrible. The burger steak was literaly a dried up hamburger patty with a thimble cup of gravy the sweet glazed carrots were mushy old and were discolored and the mashed potatoes were instant and had not been mixed well and had powder still in the mix. We never got our check and when we went to pay we spake at length that the waitress needed help and the clerk just says “we are trying”.

I had a delicious hamburger 🍔. 🍟 Fries were tasty. I had to get a slice of pie to go. One of the best slices of lemon meringue pie 🥧 I've had

We did not have as positive an experience here as some folks. Hot roast beef sandwich was ok but lacking in the portion of roast beef. Fried chicken was ok. Definitely was not the best I've ever had. The breast and thigh were hot and fresh. The chicken leg was cold and dried out. The baked potato was cold and you could tell it was leftover from the day before. When brought to the attention of the server instead of being apologetic she was annoyed and condescending, and advised that is how their chicken is. Their coleslaw was truly the highlight of the meal. Very good. Sorry, unable to recommend.

Stopped in for some lunch and was very happy with the service and food was great. Fried chicken I highly recommend and they make their own salad dressing which was amazing. Can’t wait to come back again. My husband and mother in law had the chicken livers and they said it was wonderful. Great food and friendly service from all.

We were there on Saturday evening. We received our salads after 45 minutes, the meal a proper time after that. The roast beef dinner was bland, and the gravy thick and tasteless. The ham dinner was likewise bland. I don’t know where people went, but it doesn’t seem to be this place. However, the fried chicken at other tables looked great. We were in town the next night, and drove the 25 minutes to Harrisonburg.

We stayed in the local RV resort for a week and ate breakfast here twice and dinner one night. All the food was great, affordable and their menu was extensive. You'll find unusual Southern dishes like a plate of fried chicken livers, chipped beef and spam along with more common entrees. Husband loved his country-fried steak and the country ham steak for breakfast. Food service was quick and the wait staff very attentive. Oh, and did I mention homemade PIE!!?!!

The breakfast we had was decent and at a fair price ($6.99 for a ham and cheese omlet). Service was good. The atmosphere was pleasant, although due for a freshening up. Cleanliness was fair to middling. My paper napkin smelled of mildew, but otherwise no complaints.

I went to Southern Kitchen in New Market, VA while visiting family that lives there and it was a great experience; however, the waitress that I had, her name was either Liz or Liza, started yelling at the host. I felt so bad for the girl because you could tell that it upset her and it was very unwarranted. It was very unprofessional and just kinda mean… it’s a nice atmosphere and the food was great. I just really hope that Liz or Liza is aware that treating people like that is not okay. It made things a bit uncomfortable for us after that.

Food was meh. Not the cleanest place we've ever eaten in. Would've been nice to see the windows sills clean. My salad came with a complimentary slice of plastic. Cucumbers look like they were either frozen at some point or just old. Baked potato skin was dry, hard and definitely not edible. However the pies were good!

If I could leave no stars I would!! I went hoping to have great friend chicken and very disappointed !! Fox's pizza in Strasburg has much better chicken. Over half of our dinners were cold and nobody seemed to care. The waitress was RUDE until it was time to tip her, she better be glad others paid for everything. I went for my birthday and it was a horrible birthday dinner. I won't be back and will be leaving reviews on yelp and everywhere else I can find.

Asked for a booth, two available but we told we had to sit a communal table. Told hostess we could wait for a table but we took the communal table(probably our fault). Seated next to table with kids, screaming, food thrown on the floor on our table and in our food. Waited 20 mins for service had to stop another waitress to ask for service. Waitress finally came took order brought food to table didn't see her again . Wanted a drink refill had to take glasses to the register for refill. Even the refill was wrong. Food was good that's all I can say. Will be a long time before we come back. I could understand we they were busy.
