Had a wonderful time with great friends at Effingham! Gina and Lisa were so knowledgeable and made us feel so welcome during our visit. We enjoyed a wine flight lead by Gina, toured the grounds with Lisa and a glass, then relaxed in the tasting room with some snacks. What a great afternoon!

This is my second time at Effingham Winery and it was such an excellent experience. Lori, of many different titles (welcomer, pourer, entertainer, etc) was fantastic. She not only explained the wines to us, she gave us recommendations of food pairings and was an all around pleasure. Definitely coming back on a Thursday. Cheers!

This was our first stop of the day, and what a way to start. Set on a gorgeous estate with beautiful grounds and a centuries-old manor on site, this winery immediately makes an impression before you even step inside.

We arrived right as they opened on a holiday Monday, and it was a pleasure to see them open and welcoming guests so early in the day. Being the first ones there gave us the unexpected bonus of a quieter, more personal experience at the counter. While it wasn’t formally a private tasting, it certainly felt that way, and the wine master took the time to walk us through the selections with warmth and genuine hospitality.

The wines were incredibly enjoyable, with several unique offerings that you don’t often find in the Virginia wine scene. Everything we tasted was thoughtful, well-crafted, and memorable. It’s easy to imagine how stunning this place must be in the warmer summer months, but even on this visit, the experience stood out.

A beautiful setting, excellent wines, and hospitality that truly made us feel welcome. An all-around fantastic stop and a place well worth seeking out.

Our visit to Effingham Manor Winery was outstanding. This was our first time to the winery and we celebrated my wife’s birthday. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. A special shoutout to John, who took wonderful care of us and made my wife’s birthday very special. He was extremely knowledgeable about the winery, history of the property, and wine. The winery is extremely fortunate to have him as a member of their team.

The wine tasting was fantastic, with each pour thoughtfully presented and information about how it was made. It was hard to choose a favorite because we enjoyed so many of them. The two we both enjoyed were the Chardonnay and Kings Ransom (great story behind the name).

Effingham Manor is truly a gem with a beautiful atmosphere, great wine, and exceptional service. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

An amazing winery. Super hospitable and very informative of the area and the grapes they grow. There is a passion and local feel that is comparable to some of the best wineries I have been to. Food is matched well to the wines available. I will definitely be coming back.

My visit to Effingham Manor Winery was an absolute delight. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcomed, warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. A special shoutout to Gina, who took such great care of me and totally reminded me of Wendie Malik, funny and effortlessly charming.

The tasting itself was fantastic, with each pour thoughtfully presented and full of character. It was honestly hard to pick which wines were my favorites, I loved so many of them. I enjoyed the experience so much that I couldn’t help but leave with a few bottles.

Effingham Manor is a gem, beautiful atmosphere, great wine, and exceptional service. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. 🍷✨

If “Southern Gothic elegance” and “main character energy” had a baby, it would be Effingham Manor. Think manicured lawns, grand staircases, and the kind of charm that says, “Yes, I decant on weekdays.” 🍷

The place is stunning — part history lesson, part vineyard fantasy. You half-expect a Jane Austen character to float by holding a wine flight. Every glass tastes like it was aged in a secret diary and poured with an English accent.

Now, this isn’t your “flip-flops and fries” winery. This is heels, sunnies, and a slow swirl while pretending you understand tannins. Staff are friendly but polished — they’ll talk notes of blackberry and oak while you’re just thinking, “I taste luxury and a little bit of revenge.”

Perfect for:
■ Dramatic entrances
■ Instagram photos that whisper old money energy
■ Escaping small talk and mediocre Pinot

◇ Effingham isn’t casual — it’s composed. So dress like you belong in a period drama, order the boldest red, and raise your glass like it’s an act of self-love.

◇◇ Come for the vineyard. Stay because your wine deserves better company than most people. 🍇✨

One of the nicest wineries my wife and friends have ever visited. This was a extremely friendly and fun venue with staff that helpful with wine selection, attentive to our needs and did everything they could do to ensure our experience was first rate. Highly recommend!

Great wine! I preferred the viognier and petit manseng surprisingly. The tannat and kings random were really good. The environment and staff made it all that much better.
