I can't believe how good it is. The crispy yuca fries, oh my God! The chicken that's been cooked over charcoal is unbelievable. Definitely coming back!

This spot is familiar to me since i LOVED the Mr Submarine place(great gyro, now in Mosely) and I digress. The inside has not changed save for the menu. It looks a bit run down, but who cares about tables. It was clean enough and everyone was friendly. The fam is HUGE fans of Chicken Fiesta so we were excited to try this place thinking it would be more authentic. The fries were soooooo good one got a chicken quesadilla, it was fine, not outstanding, one got chicken burrito that is generously filled with rice, beans and i think cheese, one hot chicken and one got beef chimichangas, also super stuffed. All the food was fresh and tasty and i really wanted to get obsessed. I give this place 3 stars as I would eat here again if someone suggested to meet there but I probably wouldn't seek it out for myself.

The streak and cheese was excellent I was extremely satisfied and the fries were decent.

Just had lunch at this spot. I had the quarter dark chicken with rice and beans. The chicken was seasoned well and nice and juicy. The side portions were very generous. More rice and beans than I could eat. I was hoping maybe they would have a tomato and onion salad like a similar place I've been. But, that was just something that I was hoping for. This place is solid. A great addition to the neighborhood. Much, much better than the pizza joint that previously occupied this space. Give them a visit and check them out.

Oh my goodness!! The chicken here is like manna from heaven. It will have you like the people in the Bible like, "Oh God, what is it?!" It is wonderful is what it is! The chicken is roasted over charcoal on a spit, rotisserie style, and it has the perfect char, a ridiculously amazing marinade, and the tender juicy meat that makes your little mouth water. The smell is just intoxicatingly good! I have no idea what they put on this stuff (I told you it was like manna, after all), but sweet heaven and earth is it good! The nice part is that the price is equally good. For six bucks and a bit of pocket change, you get a quarter chicken and two sides (fried yucca, fries, coleslaw, beans, tortilla, salad, or rice) or, you can be smart and just get the whole chicken for 15 bucks, because you know you want it. The whole chicken comes with four sides. My recommendation is to just get multiple portions of yucca or beans, because my main gripe with Pollo Campestre is the sides. The beans are nothing special, the salad is the same old ubiquitous, tired side salad of iceberg with a few pieces of tomato or something thrown in, and the tortilla is, I'm pretty sure, from a package, although it is grilled to a much tastier, charred perfection. I cannot speak to the quality of the fried yucca because I did takeout, so the steam inside the takeout box made it a bit soggy. I perked them up with no issues in the toaster oven. Not the greatest yucca, but not bad. The spicy green sauce and the honey-mustard-type sauce were both really good. The menu has various Tex Mex options as well, such as burritos and what-nots, but does it matter? You come for the chicken! The inside of the restaurant is actually pretty spacious, but pretty bare bones. You will find 12 four seater tables and two arcade games for the kiddos as well. The music in the background is MTV Tres, so if you understand Spanish, you just may find it offensive. I could care less for that, and it is a little loud as well, but I wasn't eating in, so whatevz. While I was waiting, one of the owners brought me a sample of their house chicha morada drink, a Peruvian juice, and it was quite yummy. I tasted lots of cloves and cinnamon, and the lingering taste of cloves was surprisingly pleasant! It tasted like the holidays in a glass with added fruitiness. The wait for takeout is pretty quick, especially considering it was the first day. It takes a bit longer for the tortillas and the whole chicken orders, but for everyone else, they seemed to be in and out in a reasonable amount of time. They were already pretty busy at lunch time on opening day, so hit them up before they get swarmed in a couple of weeks, because I guarantee you, it will happen. The competition better look out! I have never, neither here nor in Miami, nor in Northern VA, tasted roasted chicken this good! I really hope they rethink making the sides an afterthought because they could really be super successful with so many people passing by there on such a busy road. Also, on a side note, yes, at least one of the owners speaks perfect English.
