We had three topping medium pizza and cheese sticks. The portion of cheese sticks was large but not enough sauce and no garnish ( parmesan and parsley ). Then when we picked up our slice it flopped over and everything ran off leaving just soggy dough in your hand. Having to eat the pizza with a fork until you get to the crust which was the highlight of the meal. Nice buttery crust. We threw away half a pizza and three cheese sticks. And it was very pricey for the quality of food and service. For what we paid the waitress should have put the food on the plate for us and when we were done she should have put the rest in the Box instead of making us do her job. You want high dollar for a crappy product you better go all out on the service. We make better pizzas at home with Pillsbury crust or Chef Boyardee crust

Highly recommend Gia. Took my grandson there today for the first time. Shout out to Shawnee for going above and beyond to make our experience pleasant. Will definitely be going back.

I used to LOVE the people at this restaurant. The food is just average at best but service was good . Tonight we sat for 40 minutes with no food , no one checked on us , and we arrived around 4:40 in the afternoon and the place was not busy . We ordered burgers and fries , nothing complicated . Girl took our order and never returned . Finally
Flagged someone down at 5:30 because we had to be somewhere at 6 . It was clear the food was not even started because they had “a
Lot of orders rolling in “. That’s carry out . We were first . She basically said we could just leave . I saw her speak to a manager before delivering this message . While sitting there I over heard another customer call the place “disgusting “
And it felt like the staff was arguing .
And no they were not short staffed .

We used to go here quite a bit, then the service started going downhill. We were last here about 6 months ago and had terrible service. It took forever to get waited on, the food was brought out to our party at different times, and the pasta was super dry. I don’t think they even put sauce on it. Well, we went in tonight (Thursday night), there were only a few tables and yet we sat there for 20 minutes without one person waiting on us. No drinks, no water, nothing. We watched a few other couples come in and get service. We were a party of 5, so it would have been a big check, including the wine. We all ended up just getting up and leaving. Not one person in the restaurant even said anything. Like they didn’t even care. I will NEVER go back here. It’s sad, because it used to be one of our favorite places to go. I would recommend to anyone to find a new restaurant. Hopefully this one closes and new owners and new management come in and we can try it again.

I really hate giving a bad review, especially to a local place that others seem to really like. I appreciate other people's honest reviews, though, so here goes... We've given this restaurant three chances because we really wanted to support local and were so hoping the first bad meal was a fluke. Our first visit (about 2 years ago) we ordered chicken marsala and eggplant parm. The young man who served us was fantastic. The food was lackluster. They claim their sauce is home made but to us it looked and tasted like canned tomato paste. We decided to give it a second try about 6 months ago - again wanting to support local. This time I figured I'd try classic hard-to-ruin Italian and ordered the Trio Pasta (lasagna, manicotti, stuffed shell). While it was an improvement over the first time, it was still nothing to get excited about. Interestingly, I can remember the great server from 2 years ago, but not the person from 6 months ago. It was a female and while not terrible, she was forgettable. The third time I tried it by default only because we had a group luncheon there. I played it safe (or so I thought) and ordered the grilled chicken salad. I was expecting a sliced grilled chicken breast on a bed of salad or something relatively close to that. You know... actually grilled. What I got was rubbery chicken pieces pan sautéed in an overabundance of some kind of brown salty sauce. I couldn't eat it - it was awful. The server was equally bad. The restaurant was nearly empty except for the 7 or 8 of us yet we waited for water, we waited for drinks, we waited to order, we waited for meals (half of us were served 10-15 minutes after the rest), we waited for the check, and we waited to pay. The person hosting us ended up having to leave because it was taking so long, so a second person took over paying. She ended up having to go stand at the checkout to pay, and STILL had to say 'can someone take this please - I need to leave' after standing there and being ignored for several minutes. A few who needed to-go containers had to go get them at the checkout after the rest of the party had already left - except for the person who was still waiting to pay. There is absolutely no excuse for this kind of service. We will not be giving it a 4th chance.

Food is hit or miss. I ordered a large cheese pizza that when they handed me the box I had to check in the car to see if there was actually a pizza in the box it barely had sauce and barely had cheese. I wish we had a good restaurant to go to here at the lake.

Got the spaghetti with garlic and oil and added broccoli. Wish it was a little more flavorful. The house salad/ranch was good and the zucchini fries! I will def be back to try a different pasta dish.

The food was hot and delicious, but the reastraunt has some serious issues. Slow service, friendly staff. The food comes out of the kitchen one person's order at the time, not at the same time.

Just ordered a Tostito...let me tell you the putrid smell that came out of the box when we got home. I thought it was nothing so I took a bite and realized the ham or salami on it was rotten. My wife didn't believe me so she took a bite and realized the same thing. I even let my dog smell it the meat and he wouldn't even take it. Thanks Gia! ?

Imagine your make-believe Italian grandmother never learned how to cook. Everything she fed the family was a microwaveable meal from the grocery store. Guess what? Those meals are still probably better than the last three we've had as takeaway from Gia's.

The lasagna is always borderline flavorless and the noodles are always playing slip-n-slide on your plate, due to being overly wet somehow.

The garlic knots have saved the day for the past two meals from here, but the marina tastes like it was hastily taken from a commercial sized tin can that was opened 30 seconds beforehand, then watered down to go the extra mile.

Do better, Gia Italian Restaurant! We know you can. Also, update your website accordingly, you're no longer Sal's. Saluti!
