I visited Roosters Pub in Pennington Gap and had such a great first experience! I tried the Liquid Marijuana cocktail along with the cheddar rounds as an appetizer—both were delicious.
From the moment we walked in, the waitress with the long brown hair made us feel completely at home. Her accent was absolutely the cutest, and she gave us such warm, attentive service. She really made the whole experience special. We even had a good laugh when she let me borrow her favorite pen and came back jokingly asking if I stole it!
I ordered the cheeseburger with wedge fries, and let me just say—the fries were the fattest fries I’ve ever seen! Everything was satisfying, and the vibe was welcoming.
Definitely a spot I’d come back to!

I travel a lot throughout SWVA and this is a local spot that I recommend in Pennington Gap area. With all the multi-national corporate spots around, it's nice to have local spots like this to go to. Menu is small, but succinct. Great specials prices and fantastic burger; mine was medium rare, as requested. Nice draft and bottle/can selection with some regional offerings (big plus since I have not seen Michelob Amberbach on draft in about 20 years). Free parking across from the front entrance. Would stop again.

First time visitors in Pennington Gap. We stopped and ate at Rooster’s Pub for dinner. We both had the hamburger and seasoned fries and as an appetizer we selected the fried mushrooms. Everything was excellent! Hamburger was juicy, fries were cooked and seasoned just right. Service was excellent as well. Highly recommend if you are ever in this area.

We walked in as out of towners and a family of 6. We were greeted with a smile and were immediately seated. The server was friendly, prompt and kind. The food was great. We look forward to coming back.

other than the meat and gristle the food was really good but I ordered a cheese steak and the sandwich was full of hard gristle, found atleast 5 chunks, I make alot of food so I know sometimes things happen, I am guessing that is a issue from where they source their food from? not sure but I probably wont be back for awhile, I am not one to say something so I just paid for my food and left but some people I imagine would not be as nice, the other food with it was good and fries were really good.

Came in here after stopping by Axe Handle for a tasting. Justin treated us warmly and jovially, suggesting the Reuben and chicken tenders. My cousin’s tenders dish came with practically a flock of tenders and her two sides. My husband’s Reuben was also large and delicious. Justin was such a gracious host that we’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this pub to our friends.

They are open under new management. The guy who is running the pub is really friendly. He was our waitor and was very attentive. My husband had chicken wings (which was a blend the owner made up and my husband really liked them) along with a side of fries and I had a cheeseburger with fries. Food was delicious and prices were very reasonable. We will definitely go back when we are that direction.
