This is my go to if I want really good Mexican food. The King Burrito is one of the best Burritos I ever had. Packed with rice beans and chicken. Toped off with Jumbo shrimp and chorizo. With a white cheese sauce over it. So tasty. Highly recommend

El Ranchero is a small Tex-Mex restaurant located in Port Royal; they also have a location in King George. We came here for a lunch get-together, right when they had opened. We were welcomed and were ale to choose any of the booths.Their menu is pretty extensive, offering items such as various appetizers, soups, salads, tacos, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, quesadillas, pork/chicken/steak/seafood entrees, burgers, house specialties, daily lunch specials, desserts, beverages, and kid options.I had the #8 from the lunch special, which was the Chimichanga - you can opt for the chimichanga to be fried or soft, filled with your choice of chicken or beef; this was topped with a cheese sauce and served with lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole, and a side of rice and beans. I had this with the beef, which I wished it was carne asada, but it was shredded beef, similar to barbacoa. I did request to be extra fried, but it seemed as if it was only pan-fried at best. The tortilla was already soggy from the watered down/super thin cheese sauce, which didn't have much flavor to it.The sides of rice, beans, and veggies weren't piping hot, but lukewarm at best.My friend had their Chile Relleno, in which she stated it was one of the best one's she had - I have to try that next time!Service was very kind and attentive; not many options in the area, but if you're craving for some Tex-Mex fare, this can be an option. Also, the prices are very budget-friendly.Just note that the booths are a bit tight, and the tables are a bit heavy to adjust and move around.About 4 spots are available to park in the front, but there seems to be some side parking as well.+friendly service+limited parking in lot

I absolutely love the new look inside. If you haven't been yet, you should really go. The food is great, the service is wonderful and the horchata's the best. The new decor really shows the heritage of where their food and recipes originated. Great job Taqueria El Rancho.Parking: There's only about 4 spots in front of the restaurant but there's extra parking in the lot next door.Kid-friendliness: There's large booths, the wait staff is very patient and the food is also great for kids. I believe they have a kids menu as well.

Ordered Steak Ranchero, rare, and got shoe leather. Waitress did not understand "rare." The manager came out, we explained the issue, and they cooked a new steak, and it was fabulous. Waitstaff needs to understand English better.
