We went at Easter and it was great. Then my husband and I went another time for a date and it was delicious food and great service.

PLEASE stop changing the menu!!!! Bring back the mushroom flatbread and Mediterranean salad!!!! The mushroom flatbread has been a mainstay since the beginning and the Mediterranean salad was beyond delicious! There are ZERO decent vegetarian options in Powhatan and your new options do NOT come close! You guys have changed the menu SO many times and I get it but enough is enough.
Always a great experience. Servers are attentive, the bar staff are exceptional, and the food is always on point. Our favourite place for lunch, dinner and date nights, we love 1933 and always look forward to our next visit.

Nice Place
Food is upscale but approachable and simple. Service was outstanding. Owner and chef come by and touch tables.
I had the steak (ribeye). It was nicely seasoned and seared. My wife had the salmon which was crispy and cooked perfectly.
A touch more salt on the vegetables was needed but that’s just a personal preference.
We brought our son as well and the restaurant is kid friendly. Think more upscale food with a relaxed atmosphere.
The food is a solid 4.5/5 but the service and atmosphere is a solid 5. As is typical of Powhatan, everyone is really nice and accommodating.
Overall, nicely done :)

We're happy that we made the 45 min drive out to 1933 Public House. Great food and service and a great Pumpkin Cheescake.
And I was happy I could order the White Christmas Martini from their special event the night before, even tho it wasn't on the menus.
Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu, although we didn't see any kids when we were there.

The staff was great but the food was mediocre, burger was not seasoned and also over cooked, best part of the meal was the crispy brussel sprouts, wings were very good and meaty but not very smokey.
I ordered my burger pink and it was very over done, pickles didn't have any flavor, bacon and onions were cooked well, would think about making a public house sauce
I live within walking distance of 1933 Public House and went there for the first time with my visiting company. WOW! Everything is just SO GOOD! The food was superb and plenty of it! Service was with multiple servers as they each had a job to do and we were given drinks, salads and main courses quickly and always with smiles. You can tell the people love working there. Can't wait to bring my daughter and grandson there when they come for Christmas week!

Restaurantji Recommends
This restaurant has gotten significantly worse over time. I've been here a dozen times, and this was the last visit. At first it was a respectable place. My meal was barely edible tonight, the sides were inedible. My mothers meal was slightly better, so she shared a few bites with me. I can no longer recommend eating here. And they have children working the tables who have been given zero training. Several of our friends were eating and they texted me afterwards with similar complaints.

We ordered the crab cakes, the house burger, buffalo chicken flatbread, and my kids had the pizza (flatbread) and chicken tenders.
Pros: Although it was a busy Saturday night, we were seated immediately and the food arrived fast. The atmosphere was 10/10. I love a restaurant with clean restrooms.
Cons: A bit overpriced for the portions. Also, I’d love to see them have more menu options in the future.

Our waitress Eva was spectacular and charming. Very attentive and gave excellent suggestions to my husband and I, since it was our first time visiting 1933. The filet mignon was delicious as was the crab cakes. We will definitely be coming back to this beautiful restaurant. Thank you

Enjoyed our meal at 1933 Public House for the first time as part of Restaurant Week. Attentive service without being overbearing, great food and relaxed atmosphere. We will back regularly.

What a beautiful building design. The high ceiling bar and high top area give the feel of much larger space at the same time it has a intimate feel all around. The front room the same it feels like a large space but still intimate with good acoustics. The food was outstanding in quality and well portioned. The scallops and filet minion was cooked perfectly. Lot of personal detail in plating of the food just tells you the quality of the kitchen personal. Just wonderful.
