I would love to give the Food a realistic review but we never even got to place an order.
I’m writing to share deep disappointment regarding my family’s experience at Mabel’s on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Unfortunately, it was not the first time we’ve encountered this kind of treatment at your restaurant.
Upon arrival, we waited an unusually long time to be seated. Once seated, our table was wet and slimy, so I had to clean it myself with napkins. Even more concerning, during this time we observed at least three families who arrived after us being greeted warmly, seated quickly, and having their orders and drinks taken promptly. My family, on the other hand, was not even acknowledged.
After nearly 20 minutes, I approached a server to ask about the delay. His response was a shrug and the comment, “We didn’t see you.” Considering the restaurant only has about 15 tables, with several available and others needing to be bussed, this explanation was both dismissive and troubling.
Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. We have experienced similar treatment on previous visits. My 8-year-old has always loved the milkshakes at this establishment which is why we returned. However, after this most recent experience, we’ve decided we can no longer dine at Mabel’s.
I hope you take this feedback seriously, as no family should feel ignored or unwelcome in your restaurant.

We ordered 2 burgers with fries totaling $32. For that price, we feel like there should have been more fries. My husband's burger (the good morning burger) was very bland- even with the bacon. We had heard good things and we're excited for try it. But this left us disappointed.

Let’s face it. Mabel’s has delicious burgers. They even toast their buns, which adds to the tastiness. Toppings are always fresh and crunchy. Fries and onion rings equally crispy, not greasy and yummy. Of course ice cream is wonderful too but we rarely have room for it. Only problem with Mabel’s is we have to drive 45 minutes to get there. PLEASE bring one to Chester. It will be packed all the time!

Do NOT eat here unless you want money forcefully taken out of your bank account if you choose not to tip! My family and I ate here and well the server was rude and lied to us about the price of a milkshake we would be receiving. Well in the end we did NOT tip. Come to find out, Mable’s AUTOMATICALLY lets their servers add a 20% tip on their receipt if they aren’t tipped, because they believe every server deserves to be tipped even if they do a shitty job. Our server added 8.50 to one of our receipts WITHOUT us knowing and it was then taken out of the bank account. Mable’s excuse was “ well it says on the receipt at the bottom that serves automatically get a 20% if they don’t receive one via table”. I don’t know about anyone else, But that should be VERBALIZED and not in tiny fine print on a receipt. So please if you choose to come here and end up not tipping… money will be taken out of your account via tip.

Great burgers, fries, and shakes. Lunch crew seemed short staffed so service was very slow and almost every table that was not in use was dirty with dishes.

This is a decadent place to have a meal. The homemade chips are great and the desserts are amazing.
Maybe I just went there on a bad day or ordered the wrong thing, but the food was only okay. It was my first time there and I've heard good things so I'd try it again.

We go here for special occasions, only because everything is so good we tend to order a lot and it gets pricey.
Prices are absolutely fair and competitive though, $12-14 for a handcrafted burger that never disappoints. Fries are great, but treat yourself to their handcut, homemade potato chips. The family and always get a basket to go so we can have them at home too.
People go here for the decadent (dare I say, over the top) milkshakes. These are the ones you see on the internet and say 'Ohhh, I gotta try that!'. Personally I'm more of a banana split guy, which is also great.
Try the burgers and sandwiches, try the wings, try all the fried foods, and of course have a milk shake!
We will be back soon, we'll think of something to celebrate I'm sure.

The day we went they were short staffed but they let us know ahead of time and the wait wasn’t too bad. A little pricey for what we got, everything we got was fine
