Currently enjoying a Morpheus here in Australia. Had loved many of your beers. Just hope I can visit one day soon!
This isn't the cookie cutter brewery. The tap list shows imagination, a bit of experimentation, and some brews push the limits of what can still be described as beer. For example, the Imperial Stout was thick and a muddy beige color, like a milkshake and had the most amazing creamy nutty flavor that was unlike any beer or anything I've ever had before. About the place: the taproom was small with limited seating, the taplist had a very good variety, we sat on the outdoor patio, as the weather was nice the day we visited. I walked in excited to try everything Adroit Theory had available and I left the place very impressed. I can go to a different brewery every day and I won't come across anything quite like Adroit Theory. Well done, guys. My hats off to the good folks behind this concept!
Amazing
I feel so lucky to have Adroit Theory available at the Beer Cave in Southern Maryland. One random Friday afternoon, searching through their assortment of beers, a stranger recommended I try Adroit Theory. I'm a fan of The Misfits, but I don't gravitate to things adorned with skulls, bones and such. Well don't judge a book by it's cover or a beer by it's can. It's hellishly heavenly.
Very small tap room with some great thick beers. The bartender was super nice. Had to take one star off though, just because there is very limited parking, and it's kinda way out there in a commercial and industrial area.
Well, since I’ve been prompted to leave a review by the owner- here goes.
As far as the product, it’s great. There is no denying that. Smart and a mastermind at their craft.
The thing that is not great is the atmosphere and the unfriendliness of the staff. You can serve a great product but when you’re working in customer service, you still have a service to provide. Interpersonal skills and just common courtesy is something that matters to me as a person, and this failed at every angle. I don’t like feeling like a burden when asking questions at an establishment.
Serving good drinks isn’t a free pass to be rude to your customers paying a lot of money for your beer.
We were visiting Virginia from WI. Visited based on a recommendation from a friend. Picked up some All I See is Carrion. Absolutely phenomenal. I cannot wait to visit again.
Seen several reviews here, most very good and some with mixed reviews, so I figured I’d leave my honest input.
Adroit Theory is an overall pretty good brewery. Be aware that there is not much parking around the area when it is busy. The venue was pretty nice, however small on the inside. When the weather is nice though, they have a decent patio for seating.
The beer was very good. It was a little more expensive than other breweries, however, they were very good and the more expensive ones were specialized styles. It was a bit disappointing that only 4 of their 16 beers were on draft. Partly I’m sure this comes from smoothie sours/coffee creams clogging lines, but it would’ve been nice for their IPAs to be on draft. As a heads up, you can get singles/crowlers to go!
Service was decent. They had one person working the counter. For most days it’s probably fine, but going on a weekend with 30+ people the person was overwhelmed and service was slow and at times crowded.
All in all this is a pretty decent brewery with very good beer I would recommend going to.
I don't have adequate words for how great this brewery is. Now, it's not for everyone, and by other people, I mean those who want a watery light lager and listen to Top 40 music only. Adroit Theory has a very specific aesthetic: dark, unapologetic, but also very genuine. Everyone working there is so kind and obviously immensely talented. Every single beer I've had has been a knockout. The stouts, the IPAs, the smoothie-style sours... it's all magnificent. Big, bold flavor, every single time, regardless of what style you prefer. The taproom is cozy and the music may be a little loud for some, but again, this isn't Glory Days or B-Dubs. It's the total opposite and I'm grateful for that.
The music is as good as the beer!

We love visiting breweries when we travel, and when I saw Adroit Theory's selection of sours on their website, I knew we just had to stop by. They were out of a few of the sours we wanted to try (plus the Cold Stone Steve Austin), but we still had a chance to try the Hi-C for the Win, Funboy (raspberry vanilla), and Division (banana pudding + white chocolate). We also tried Soulless ginger beer. Everything was very tasty. Funboy was sweet with lots of raspberry flavor, and not really sour (which was fine with me!). Division really does taste like banana pudding. We had some during lunch earlier in the day, and the resemblance was uncanny. We had a really hard time deciding which of those two we wanted to take home in a crowler, but went with the Funboy.
The taproom doesn't look like what they show on their website. I'm guessing they moved things around?
We will be back next time we're in the area.
Adroit Theory is what every otherrewery. brewery wishes they were. Go to this b
Place was fine, beer was fine, bartender was fine. But if you follow them on instagram and want some of their crazy releases call first. We drove 4 hours only to get there and find out half the menu was unavailable, but there would be new smoothie sours and stouts the next day so come back in the afternoon. Did that, only to be told oh no they’re not ready yet come back again tomorrow. We had only planned the one overnight and unfortunately left very disappointed. Not a bad brewery, but call and plan ahead if you want something specific.
Best fruited sours and milk stouts I've ever had.
The crew at Adroit Theory Brewing Company were freaking amazing! Their customer experience and beer knowledge was absolutely outstanding! The beer also...WOW...the wife and I have never in years had beer as good as they have at their establishment. Metal music and beer in one place is a nirvana for us too and they have found a way to make it happen. BRAVO ZULU GUYS AND YOU DESERVE MORE STARS THAN GOOGLE WILL LET ME GIVE YOU IN THE RATING!
