The past two Thanksgivings my wife’s family has bought a bunch of empanadas to have for lunch. When I tell you I have thought about these empanadas and the chimichurri consistently for the past year, I am not exaggerating. The flavors are so good on everything. Now yall just need to open up a spot in North Carolina so I can indulge myself a little more ;)
I’m Latino by marriage to an Argentine girl. I have been to BA and other parts of Argentina multiple times. I have enjoyed hundreds of empanadas from all kinds of restaurants, hole in the wall mercados and food trucks. Making (wife and mother-in-law) and enjoying empanadas are a regular part of my life! My wife and I tried Gringo Gordo for the first time today. The empanadas were delicious! Reminded us of the ones we got on Uruguay years ago! The cajeta was amazing! We'll definitely be back. We tried 5 different flavors between my wife and I, ask were very good but the Smoked Chicken was the stand out... super flavorful. Oh and try their chimichurri... it's one of the best I've had!
