Staff was extremely pleasant. The food was excellent. My only ( very tiny) complaint was the small cheese board was extremely small, and the cheese was cut into miniscule pieces, and unidentifiable.

Great place to have a meal. Food was excellent and service was great. I would recommend eating here.

What an amazing time we had last night. BEAUTIFUL view of the golf course and the food was outstanding! They started by serving us a small plate of cheese and salami while they made our cocktails. I had the local steak with mushrooms and horseradish cream sauce. Amazing. Our server was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. We frequented this restaurant very often prior to Covid and once it reopened we were not very happy with the service or food quality. We gave it several attempts over a long period of time but it never got better so we stopped going. I saw they are under a new owner and chef so we gave it another shot. Glad we did because this "steakhouse" is a real culinary addition to our small Purcellville town. (they actually cooked our steaks perfectly to requested temperature!) The dinner menu is completely redone and wonderful. My husband had the loli pop lamb chops and ate every bite of them. He was quite happy. My only complaint is they are not open for Saturday lunch or brunch. Just sitting out on the veranda would be my choice everytime for lunch. Highly recommend West End!

First time there, food was absolutely delicious and the portion size was just right. Little noisy, but the food was amazing!

Subpar service overshadowed an otherwise delicious meal. Our group of four waited 35 minutes for the first entrée, with the remaining three arriving 25 minutes later— a full hour after ordering. A promised bread refill never materialized, and our request to speak with the manager was ignored for over 20 minutes while he chatted with another table. When he finally addressed us, he listened respectfully and offered a 25% discount plus comped drinks. However, both the waiter and manager let us down by not resolving the issues promptly, which could have salvaged our experience.

Enjoyable evening; the food was delicious and the service was good. Although now under new ownership, they have a new menu, and prices have increased somewhat.

First visit: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was shrimp and grits, and the Filet was prepared excellently. We were not rushed and enjoyed dessert and coffee to complete the quiet evening. We will definitely return.

We have been here before and had a good experience, but if this was my only time I would have rated it lower. They were a hot mess on Fathers Day. We had a dinner reservation on the early side and they were out of all their salads except one, potatoes ( how do you run out of potatoes?) and several appetizers. Ok. Ordered a Mac and cheese side and it came out cold. Like, colder than room temperature. We got Mac and cheese sides with our meals and they were all different. Like, had different cheeses in them. We had the ribs which were smoked well but had no sauce at all, just a ‘fruit salsa' kinda thing that had very little flavor. And you got two ribs. Two. More of an appetizer, but you wouldn't know that from the price. Left dinner still a bit hungry. Service was slow. The staff seemed to be hanging out at the bar chatting. No manager came by. Nothing was taken off the bill for our trouble. Not even the cold Mac n cheese. Nobody seemed to really care. Ok service for a Bob Evans, but not what I expect for $150 dinner for two (that was just two entrees and two drinks since they were out of the appetizers we wanted and the dessert menu was just sad). We are locals, but I doubt we will go back. We have consistent good experiences at Baia and Magnolia at the Mill.

We have been to the West End Wine Bar and Pub multiple times, all were great experiences. I wanted to go here for Father's Day with my family and a friend from out of town. The restaurant was not busy and we enjoy the ambiance. Issues started when ordering, we ordered Fried Green Tomatoes as an app, informally they were out of it. Had the deviled el eggs - recommended! My daughter ordered the Avacado Mango salad, unfortunately they were out of avocado (this is priced as an entree salad and came out the size of a regular side salad), or friend ordered the West End salad, nope.. out of strawberries. Ordered Caesar, came different than described on the menu, no tomatoes and with anchovies - definitely would have not ordered the anchovies. My prime filet came out over done and dry, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp.. oh the side salad I ordered, never came and then showed up a minute or 2 after the steak - not sure if this was poor kitchen timing or another issue. My wife ordered the steak tips appetizer as an entree, came out over cooked and with some very small (think the size of pencil eraser) pieces. Her salad, same as mine showed up with the meal. Had a conversation with the manager about the experience, quality of the food, unavailability of some dishes, etc. He asked, what he could do to make it right, I don't like to ask for things nor tell someone how to deliver customer by service, so I said please do what you think is the right thing to do. He took off my salad I never received and the Cesar salad, never bothering to even stop back to the table. I did speak with him once more as I was leaving and “thanked” him for his attention to customer service. I don't like writing negative reviews as I hope it's a singular experience, however with the significant decline in service and quality, I thought this one was necessary. We'll go back for another try, even if just for dessert and espresso martinis, but it will be quite a while before we do.

I took my dad and husband there for Fathers Day. We ordered two of the smoked salmon toasts. After putting in our orders, the waiter came back and said they were out of it. We then ordered two of the egg and biscuit platters without bacon. After a while the waiter came back and said they ran out of eggs and someone went to the farm to get them. They gave us the option of available scrambled eggs or waiting for the eggs to come from the farm to have them cooked sunny side up. We took the option of scrambled eggs since it was readily available. Once our orders came, they both had bacon so they had to take them back and redo our orders. In the meantime my husband and daughter had received their orders and eaten already. Service was fair but they need to do a better job of checking their ingredients to ensure they have enough and make things off the menu or inform customers at the start of things are out. Overall we were looking forward to this restaurant but will not be going back.

Took 90 minutes to get food which was stone cold. No attempt to comp anything on a 350 dollar brunch. Have been there before change over. Will not go back.

Lindsey

Great atmosphere and service. Little pricey for some of the portion sizes. Cocktails are good.

Have been coming here for a long time and normally we enjoy it. We came on Sunday for brunch, and it was really busy with several large groups of diners. It didn't seem like they had enough servers working to take care of everyone. Took us half an hour just to get water and coffee. Server was nice, but super busy, and took a while to get our food and drinks as well. Not too upset about it because it's an isolated incident. Hopefully they will have more waitstaff when we return.

We stayed at a local B&B; and we're told that we'd get a 10% discount. It was our first time there; and recommended by a friend who's a local. Our server, food, service, ambiance, and everything was awesome! We were celebrating our wedding anniversary; and informed the staff. The B&B guest discount was honored; and dessert was complimentary for our celebration. We'll definitely be back; and recommend to others. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. Thanks.

This was our first dinner at The West End, and we were favorably impressed. The restaurant has a welcoming, informal atmosphere, and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. We have already recommended it to friends!
