The service was slow and poor. Where as our waitress was super nice, she could not remember our order and came back multiple times for it. Our drinks came out at the same time as our food. One of us was charged 3 dollars for 3 olives with her martini after asking if the olives were an up charge and declining upon being told they were, another paid almost $60 for a salad that looked like a side salad and a small steak. The steak came alone on a small plate which was odd. Upon looking closer at our receipt we discovered we were given a filet mignon and not the New York strip but we were never asked. This was supposed to be a dinner of a full salad with steak as the protein. One of us originally wanted the meatloaf and asked if the sauce could be substituted (peppercorn intolerance) and were told no. It's a sauce. Did not stick around for dessert. The bathroom also had water all over the floor. Hindsight is 20/20 we should have spoken to the manager before paying.
This was an incredible dinner and we had such a good time! The servers were incredibly accommodating with the numerous food allergies that our party had and the food was amazing!
The service was slow at the Veranda. I have sat inside, and the pace of service and food was better.
We have not been since the changes. Prior we had been downstairs a few times and always had great service. This was the same! Food was delicious, service great and the overall experience was fantastic. Went for birthday. Will be back.
The food was outstanding. Ambience was good. The waiter confused our food with that of nearby tables. He would linger in the bar area near the tv and use his phone rather than address our requests for food and drinks. Requests for water refills, bread and other beverages went unanswered. At the end of the meal we had to bring up the topic of dessert. We had mentioned in the conversation with the waiter that we had a birthday celebration for the evening. He was reluctant to offer the dessert menu at guest. A guest at the table asked for coffee and never received it. Another guest GOT coffee but it took over 90 minutes to get a refill. We waited 35 minutes for dessert. The checks were incorrect. He had put food from our neighboring tables on our bill. Dinner turned out to be three hours long because of the delays. The waiter can use some training. He made what should have been a delightful experience a rather tedious one.
The West End is in a quiet location and has great ambiance. I have been there twice now; the last time was five stars across the board. This past dinner was a less spectacular. Menu items and wine we asked for were not available but not told until we tried to order. The wine order was confused and charged a different price than on the menu. The food was good but not spectacular and the whole experience was just off the mark for the price.
My wife and I have been to the West End several times and always enjoyed the food and experience. Last night may have been an off night. We thought the fried green tomatoes and my meatloaf were overdone. We also had issues with the wine. They didn't have any sparkling as indicated the menu. We asked for the bartender for a recommendation based on food we ordered. Not surprising, he suggested the most expensive wine on the menu. We settled for the pinotage. By the time it arrived we were already into the meal. All good. We'll try again. Just not real soon.
We had a 7?pm reservation. No one approached our table until I went to the hostess 50 minutes later. Miscommunication. Steak overcooked. However, its replacement was not flash done another 20 minutes. It was rare. Food quality delicious. The server did ask for a discount we did not suspect. Grateful but odd manager didn't come to table tp apologize for our experience. Maybe unlucky first experience.
We loved our server but dude was soooo slllooow. We had to go find him a few times. Everything was perfectly cooked and presented. Would happily come back! It's in a cool old house but is fully ADA compliant for those who are in need.
Staff was extremely pleasant. The food was excellent. My only ( very tiny) complaint was the small cheese board was extremely small, and the cheese was cut into miniscule pieces, and unidentifiable.

Great place to have a meal. Food was excellent and service was great. I would recommend eating here.
What an amazing time we had last night. BEAUTIFUL view of the golf course and the food was outstanding! They started by serving us a small plate of cheese and salami while they made our cocktails. I had the local steak with mushrooms and horseradish cream sauce. Amazing. Our server was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. We frequented this restaurant very often prior to Covid and once it reopened we were not very happy with the service or food quality. We gave it several attempts over a long period of time but it never got better so we stopped going. I saw they are under a new owner and chef so we gave it another shot. Glad we did because this "steakhouse" is a real culinary addition to our small Purcellville town. (they actually cooked our steaks perfectly to requested temperature!) The dinner menu is completely redone and wonderful. My husband had the loli pop lamb chops and ate every bite of them. He was quite happy. My only complaint is they are not open for Saturday lunch or brunch. Just sitting out on the veranda would be my choice everytime for lunch. Highly recommend West End!
First time there, food was absolutely delicious and the portion size was just right. Little noisy, but the food was amazing!
Subpar service overshadowed an otherwise delicious meal. Our group of four waited 35 minutes for the first entrée, with the remaining three arriving 25 minutes later— a full hour after ordering. A promised bread refill never materialized, and our request to speak with the manager was ignored for over 20 minutes while he chatted with another table. When he finally addressed us, he listened respectfully and offered a 25% discount plus comped drinks. However, both the waiter and manager let us down by not resolving the issues promptly, which could have salvaged our experience.
Enjoyable evening; the food was delicious and the service was good. Although now under new ownership, they have a new menu, and prices have increased somewhat.
