I got the brisket combo with 2 sides of Mac and cheese. Staff were very nice. Brisket cook and flavor was ok but the portion was terrible. The small plastic container actually weighed more than the 4 thin slices of brisket it held. The Mac and cheese was overcooked to the point that the pasta was mushy and fell apart. For almost $15 I really expected better.

I will definitely come back. The only complaint is for the price the portions needs to be a little more than what the are. The staff is patient and nice. The wait was not long at all. The food was really good. Thanks to my son who recommended we go there.

I love how well the person who took my order.. we ordered quite a bit of food . The only thing that taste good were the baked bean and French fries . My husband I are foodies … I had the Brisket tacos .. the brisket was very dry and the pico de gallo did not have any flavor really. I was saddened about that. I also ordered mango habanero wings . Omgg. The sauce always cool.. my the wingssssssss were sooooooooooo dry. You can tell the wings were smoked .. but didn’t taste smoked !! Nor did the brisket taste smoked nor have a smoke ring . Lastly I ordered make and cheese for myself and one of my children. She’s six and said it taste like nothing .. she beat me to it . My husband ordered a mixed plate with ribs and brisket … he said the ribs were ok but the meats were dry . So we’re the green beans .. other then that .. the rest of our children ordered cheese quesadilla and French fries and said it taste good . Oh my oldest ordered smoked chicken quesadilla.. and said the chicken didn’t have any flavor. And the drinks to all of my 5 smaller children drinks were missing .I pray the company take this as constructive. And make changes…. I really want to love this place .

Wonderful group of staff and food is always fresh and hot. I love their collards and cornbread, the chef does amazing work in the kitchen. I always come for a chicken quesadilla!

Excellent meal had after I ended up in Ladysmith by accident. First thing I noticed was very modest prices for BBQ. This place was definitely not trying to break the bank. Which could have been a bad thing. Was worried for a moment I would end up with gas station BBQ of questionable providence.Happy to report this was not case! I ordered my BBQ "go to" of brisket, coleslaw and french fries. The coleslaw was creamy and fresh, the fries crisp and delicious and the brisket had the proper char with the fat all but rendered to that mush you want. It had lost some internal color, but thats a pass because i ordered it 30 minutes before the store closed. It melted in the mouth, and was not chewy at all. The real star though was the bun that came with the platter. It was lightly toasted, buttery and delicious. Not a throw away piece of Wonderbread. The brisket, coleslaw and some of their BBQ sauce made an excellent sandwich. As I was eating several people came in and out, so it's clearly a popular hole in the wall with the locals.My only concern was that the place seemed to be having some maintenance issues. The soda machine seemed to be inoperable, there was a visible ceiling leak and the canned drinks on offer were sitting in melted ice water instead of ice itself. I also wished there was a spicy option. I don't mind sweet BBQ sauce, but I personally prefer mine with a little zip. None of this detracted from the food at all, but was slightly off putting.All in all, 4 stars to a very nice little restaurant. If they get the drink situation sorted out, maybe set out a bottle of Tabasco, and fix that leak, easily a 5 star recommendation.

Has a gud flavor... nothing over the top...but gud for when you want bbq close to you...I do question there rib slabs... although pretty gud...I doubt very seriously that a half rack or whole rack they sell... actually is a whole rack or half a rack of ribs because they sell it individually chopped already ???

The food overall was not bad. I’m a little concerned when I went in the restaurant and there was water leaking from the ceiling in their kitchen.

It was my first time today and when bit into the ribs I was hooked. You can taste the smoke and the sauce was too good. Even the corn bread was good. Will be back soon. Good food.

Food is really good, prices even better.... Been here a few times now, and have tried something different every time, just got home and eating now and cant wait to go again. You cant go to McDonalds cheaper than here, and the food is so much better....

This place is garbage. I wish I had an experience anywhere near as great as the 4 or 5 star reviews but that has NEVER been the case , even after several chances.I’m from Texas so I guess I expect more from a BBQ joint than dried out chicken with bland flavors or 3 day old looking brisket. Kinda sucks when the highlight of a place is a side (macaroni was actually good).I dunno , I’d rather a food spot with actual good food would take this “restaurant’s” place bc food around this area sucks enough as it is. So long as it doesn’t become ANOTHER ITALIAN FOOD OR PIZZA SPOT like the other 3 nearby.Bottom line: PASS . Go buy frozen bbq at the grocery store and heat it up yourself. You’ll be much happier.

The brisket tacos are simple but taste great. Potatoe salad and cole slaw were very fresh and taste homemade. Place is a nice alternative to Ladysmith’s limited choices

The restaurant looks clean and it is really nice. I think I may have ordered wrong because my sandwich was dry dry. It is a family run business and they seem very nice. I will go back and try something else. Mac n cheese was a big hit with my teenager.

This was my 2nd visit here.First time I went it was really good. Second time I got stuck in that part of nowhere I was excited to be able to get a good meal.i even raved to my friend about how good it was. Unfortunately it wasn't good. My pulled chicken was really dry. The Mac n cheese had a weird after taste. Her meal wasn't any better. We both ate less then half. Guess it depends on who's cooking. Needless to say I won't ever find out. I don't like spending money on food that goes in the trash.

Taco meets barbecue and pleasantly surprises you. I have tried several of the items on the menu and have not been disappointed yet. Please give them a try!

Great place with delicious food! People are pleasant and friendly. They have best brisket here!!
