Got super excited when this place was featured on the local news. Made a reservation and drove an hour. Waiter didnt know anything about the weekend special advertised the day before. The actual menu was very limited. What we did order was not great. The steak had no flavor and the mashed potatoes were cold (the table next to us sent theirs back because they were cold, our waiter didn't make an offer to take ours back). My kabobs were overcooked and mostly fat and gristle. I feel like we wasted 3 hours of our day, $60.00, and left hungry.
Great staff ! Wonderful food !
We went to Ina & Forbes on a Saturday night around 7pm. The inside is beautiful. We were greeted by a very nice young gentleman (don’t remember his name but he had a baseball cap on with a fish on it). He seated us and took our drink order! We ordered the hush puppies appetizer. Delicious!! I could have eaten this for my meal! My companion had the margarita and it was mixed well and tasted delicious. Our main courses were the Monte Cristo for me and the Steak Kabobs for him.
Amazing experience from Chef T. Can’t express it enough; loved every minute of the small town atmosphere, the locals, the town, wow. Utv friendly town!! Thanks again Chef T and the hotel GM for making our stay unforgettable. Cheers
First time trying and let me tell you it did NOT DISSAPOINT!!! everything we tried(which was a lot) was amazing. Can’t wait to come back ASAP, even with an hour+ drive!
Ordered a hamburger & Tator Tots food was very good. The only reason I am giving them a 4 star rating is for $11 the hamburger patty was small and thin. Nothing really special about about it to pay that higher price for. Service was great and fast. This restaurant has a great atmosphere with live music. I will be coming here again.
Food is absolutely wonderful! Delivery and reheating instructions! you won't be disappointed! Love Chef T and crew!
Chef T what a wonderful experience your food is. My family ordered several meals from your recent “delivery menu” so we could taste and share. Each and every meal was wonderful. Shrimp and sausages on the low country boil ... perfect... the sausage was the best I’ve ever had. Fried chicken and squash casserole yummy.... but.... the BEST thing ... OMG the Collard Greens
We have never had anything that we did not like! Great food, great atmosphere and the best of all, great people! Chef T and her staff do an incredible job.
Great place for a night out. Dinner was very good, live acoustical music and a fantastic bartender. Everyone makes you feel welcome in the middle of downtown St. Paul.

This is one of the best places i have ever tried, the food is amazing and the staff goes above and beyond to give the guests an incredible experience, i am thrilled to have such a nice place so close to home:)
Risotto with green beans ingenious. I would have liked green beans as a kid if they were paired with risotto. Steak was cooked well and while a brussell sprout and pickled red onion steak topping is not my go to; it worked and was enjoyable. Chicken wings were cooked well. Try them out, great atmosphere.
This is based on one visit for Thanksgiving. Food was excellent. Brussell sprouts were amazing. The donut wall was inspired. Service was very good as well. Did not feel the prices were outrageous and the drink pours were more than adequate. Only thing I would have done, turn off the TV and don't show the football games during dinner. Not going to take a star off though since many people like football.
I truly believe this Chef has great talent. Her reputation and experience has proven that. My beef with the restaurant is the price of an IPA beer, simple as that. That hardly deserves such a backlash in response. There was an implication in the response that I'm some sort of coward by giving my review. I want the record to show that, once I received my receipt I questioned the bartender about the price of the IPA. The receipt wasn't itemized and the bartender had no clue how much the beer was. If the pricing system was automated, a bartender still should know the prices of the drinks she is serving. Also, no prices were posted in the bar area and I wasn't offered a drink menu. I have never in my life purchased an IPA or any other beer, domestic or import, in this area of Virginia that cost 8 bucks.. let alone ten, and I sure as hell don't need a lecture on the price of beer. I am not a cheap guy, I gave the bartender a ten dollar tip even though she didn't know the price of the drinks she was peddling and really wasn't all that friendly. She was more distracted with other things rather than serving the few customers she had at the bar. If she was new, I understand.. yet, service is service and If I'm paying eight bucks for an IPA, I expect service. I will pay a large amount of money for a great meal. I will not pay a large amount of money for an IPA. It takes no talent to pour nor serve. I appreciate this restaurant opening in small town coal mining Virginia.. however the county in which this restaurant resides, the average median income is 40k. If in fact this restaurant only wants to serve the incoming vacationers and tourists, I understand. Yet if that is the case, one cannot use the community as a shield to justify the prices. I am disappointed at the response I received with the original criticism. The restaurant could have easily handled my initial irritation with grace instead of lashing out at the customer. After my initial irritation, I actually felt bad about giving a three star review, but once I received the response.. I felt I was justified in my initial findings. This part of Virginia has experienced an economic disaster with the coal mines shutting down, people losing their jobs and even worse, losing their retirement. People are hurting in this part of VA and I feel it ridiculous for charging big city beer prices in a small town restaurant. I'd love to come back and try another menu item, yet, after this response, I feel unwelcome. Also, I will admit the food I ate was decent. You don't send food back if it's decent food. The restaurant took offense to this and worse, wanted to deny my experience. What I ate was DECENT food. It wasn't fantastic.. and I shouldn't have to apologize for it. That was MY experience. That doesn't mean the chef is inept and it shouldn't prevent anyone else from patronizing the restaurant. I want this restaurant to thrive, despite my criticism. But the blistering response I received for my review has done much more harm to the establishment than my review ever could have. GOOD DAY!
Chef T is fabulous! The homemade pimento cheese with pretzel rolls are heavenly! You must give Ina + Forbes a try!
