All the way from the UK! We visited here for some food while visiting family. Really enjoyed the food. Also enjoyed the service as Bob the owner let us do some sauce tasting too. Really friendly people. Highly recommend . They have unique recipes too!

The BBQ was outstanding and the staff friendly and helpful. Two in our party; one had the pulled pork sandwich with Cole Slaw on it with a pasta salad. The other was the boneless rib sandwich with BBQ sauce on top with store made 3 bean salad. Highly recommended, if you happen to be in the area

I stop by for the first time today for lunch. And I got the brisket sandwich and smoked greens. And I have to say the food was amazing and the staff was so friendly! This spot is clean and fair priced. I highly recommend this spot.

I had driven past Chad’s Dad’s numerous times; I’m glad I stopped by today. Best pulled BBQ sandwich in the Urbanna, VA area IMHO.

Have you ever wondered why the best dining spots in America often look like this? They are small businesses run by owners who thrive on their exceptional cooking skills and unique recipes. Chad's Dad's BarBQ is no exception.
When we entered this family-run establishment, we were greeted with warm hospitality and barbecue that was simply outstanding. After we placed our orders, Bob, the owner, took us on an extensive tour of the smoker. The aroma of cherry wood filled the air, showcasing his pride in what he does best. He even offered us a personal tasting of his homemade smoked barbecue sauces—yes, smoked sauces! The amazing flavors danced on our tongues. He has a white barbecue sauce that pairs perfectly with chicken wings.
Having tried barbecue in Virginia, North and South Carolina, Kansas City, and Texas, I can confidently say that this is at the top of my list. Make sure to stop by and grab some brisket, smoked greens or beans, and a sweet tea. You can't go wrong with whatever you choose. Just come hungry and leave happy!

I stopped by and picked up ribs, brisket, Q, and some sides for the family dinner as passed through Saluda.
The interior is set up oddly. There is no dine in, but there is an employee table in the store in front of the condiment area.
The food was okay, certainly not award winning. There is nothing to write home about. When a rack if ribs doesn't disappear in short order at my house, that is a statement.

After driving past Chad’s Dad’s BBQ on several trips to Urbanna I finally had the time to stop in today. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with their 50/50 sauce topped with coleslaw. Chad’ Dad gave me a sample of their pulled pork while my sandwich was being prepared. The first thing I noticed was the reddish smoke ring colored accents on the meat. That right there told me this barbecue was obviously cooked right. One tender, juicy & delicious bite confirmed that the pit master at Chad’s knows Barbecue! I was treated to a little tour of the pit as well as a little taste tour of all 10 of their in house made sauces. All of which are wonderful! My pulled pork was sandwiched on a potato roll which lends a subtle sweetness to the flavor profile. Which I believe to be a very important in barbecue done right. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of their products offered. Great BBQ is created by a labor of love. And Great BBQ is what I experienced today at Chad’s Dad’s in Saluda!

The pulled pork sandwich was ok, the Mac and cheese was not good at all. Also the sweet tea was not good southern sweet
tea. I was disappointed and probably will not return. The service however was good.

BBQ is good, good smoke, nice chop, good selection of sauces and decent portions..Skimpy on the cole slaw and sides were just average..Brunswick stew was more liquid like soup then hearty like stew which was unfortunate because the flavor was good. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Good take out overall.

This hole in the wall has absolutely ruined my day. Drove to Chesapeake bay from Richmond, worked all day and just wanted a solid meal on my way back. Ordered the pulled pork sandwich, the lady told me about the seasoning variations, I went with Carolina style. The missed the mark, like missed it by 100 miles. No flavor, no seasoning, nothing. Taste like the gravel in the parking lot, same place I left the sandwich. Waste of $14 hard earned dollars. If you wanna keep a good relationship with bbq, avoid this place. 0-10 do not recommend. My dog probably would’ve left it alone… Sheeeeessh

Loved everything about this place! Would recommend, but also be aware no public bathroom or indoor dining. Fortunately picnic tables saved my day.
