Happy to try this iconic Scottsville institution midday on a Friday. I had a delicious BLT with fries and a Diet Pepsi. The regulars had not quite started rolling in so I enjoyed a peaceful lunch at the bar. Reasonable service and a fun bar. Definitely worth a visit while passing through!

It may have been an off day. I have eaten here before and enjoyed it. The service was iffy, and the food was sub-par and too salty to eat. It's still a lovely venue and I'm hoping it was just a bad day.

The food and/or service his hit or miss. Sometimes the food is good, other times, there is room for improvement. Same with the service. On 5 June, we stopped by before getting out on a camping trip, this is our usual spot. Tonight, the food was good, and our server, Taisha was great, 5 stars today. I had the James River Burger, and my friend had the pork chops.

The food was great and our waitress was a doll baby! Portions were pretty good. The James River Burger was delicious! Thank you guys!

Silly me. I almost forgot that the owner of this establishment poured boiling water in a cat.

The attention is really good, the people are nice and friendly. The dinner area has a completely private atmosphere and it's absolutely beautiful. And the food is delicious!😋

We have been coming to this restaurant for at least 7 or 8 years. It has recently gotten so much more expensive, and the food is not worth the money they are asking. A build-your-own burger racked up $30, BLT with sweet potato fries for $20, small sized chicken Caesar salad for $20...and it wasn't that good. We had a great time watching football with our friends, and our server was kind. The manager didn't provide any help with the overcharging of the burger, just kind of shrugged his shoulders. (Btw - a James River Burger is $14, so whatever you do, don't build your own with the special toppings you prefer.) Sadly, we will not be going back. We never complain because we've worked in the restaurant business. The food, value, and lack of help, or even wanting to help, has turned us away for good. We'll be enjoying more meals at Amici's, the new Mexican restaurant, and The Batteau down the street!

Great bar and restaurant. I had the pulled pork lunch plate and really enjoyed it - generous portion! Girlfriend had a burger and said it was very good. Service was great, too.
