We were met at the door by the hostess with the beautiful smile. She genuinely seemed happy to see us. Would have loved to catch her name as she deserves recognition. Our server, Sophia, was efficient and friendly. We ordered the Southern Gent with Brussel Sprouts and maybe one of the most delicious burgers I have ever had. Prices were very reasonable. This is our recommendation for eating in Smithfield.

I'll start off with the friendly service from the gentleman at the door, to the waitress, just pleasant and attentive, but not overbearing. The food was great!! and reasonably priced. Two of us shared the ham chowder (amazing and so full of ham potatoes, etc.), the Cuban (so good), and the country ham biscuits ( the ham was shaved thin, and just so tasty). Couldn't eat it all, so had a nice 1/2 Cuban sandwich the next day for leftovers. I enjoyed being able to see into the kitchen, and watch the attentive prep that went into the food, and teamwork behind the scenes. Will definitely return when in the area. (and for dessert, I'd recommend YumaMarie’s bakery down the street, wonderful!).

Ordered blackened chicken tacos, with a side of rice & black beans. The taco filling was one small dribble of chicken & whatever; dry & tasteless. Side was rice, black beans & a mystery veggie. Dry, no flavor. My wife had a chicken something on a bun. The chicken was lost on the bun, & was dry & tasteless. Her side was sweet potato fries which were limp & tasteless. The entire meal was a big disappointment from previous meals eaten there. Wont be back

Love this place. Service was snappy and food was good. Went for lunch and had a delicious club sandwich and wife had the chicken salad. Both sandwiches were tasty and plenty large...we both took half sandwich to-go. On 9/27 came back...same great food and snappy service. Added photos.

Wow! Excellent restaurant! The food was delicious. They put their own unique twist on things which turns out fabulously. The pigtails are french fries that are twisted in a curl, very fun. Not to mention the booming flavor! Yum! I really enjoyed the ham biscuits. You need to like molasses to enjoy the ham biscuits. But, it's the perfect topping for biscuits. Took me back in time to eating molasses covered biscuits with my deeply southern grandfather. The children's bbq sandwich was also delicious. Smokey and sweet bbq chopped nice and fine, perfect for little ones. The green beans too blew my mind! Thin with just the tiniest crunch, sautéed to perfection. The atmosphere has a vintage vibe, quite a beautiful mix of modern and vintage, complete with a tiny store of meats, sweets, and do dad's, as well as an open kitchen concept. The manager and staff were wonderful, attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating to my 23 month old baby. Overall this is one of the best restaurants that I have been to in the last year! That is saying a lot because I eat out frequently and I live in one of the country's foodie capitals, Charleston, SC.

Great place to experience southern cooking with an emphasis on the famous Smithfield Ham! Good bar selection as well, with plenty of cocktails and rotating taps. Wait staff is friendly and timely. Definitely a family favorite!

I have not had anything bad here. Recently I tried the salmon tacos, OMG they were so delicious. I'm making this my go to from now on. The tomato bisque, chicken salad and pimento cheese are very good choices also.

So if the food and views (and service) were excellent, why just 4 stars? I was charged $6.50 for 2 cups of tea. Had this tea come with a pot of hot water, a lemon and a decent brand of tea, I wouldn't have batted an eye. My tea consisted of a cup of hot water and a Lipton tea bag. Very blah. When I ordered the second cup, I never thought I'd get another charge. This just seems cheap to me. Why, with all the pluses, would this place fall so far short on tea? But again, 4 stars and a very tasty lunch.

Fantastic, some different food choices

This place was a wonderful Discovery as I was riding through Smithfield taking pictures of love signs. I had the North Carolina style pulled pork sandwich (no slaw) and a side of macaroni and cheese. Both were fantastic!
