I stumbled upon this restaurant in smithfield last year (2022) for my birthday. My mom and I ordered the clams and absolutely loved them! We got a second order of them and raved about them to everyone. We kept trying to find an opportunity to go back. It didn't work out, then this year (2023) for my b-day my husband wanted to take my out. I insisted on the William Rand Tavern for the clams and invited my mom. We both ordered them as our entree. HORRIBLE! No joke, every single one of the clams on her plate and mine, were no bigger than a pencil eraser. Certainly waaay to small to even taste the clams. I cant believe they would even serve them like this!

Stopped in for a spur of the moment drink. Bill was amazing. He had insightful information to share about the history of the beautiful building and he crafted amazing drinks catered towards our taste. Absolutely amazing service!

You MUST try the Sunday morning brunch! Amazing food, great atmosphere, and even live music. Dine indoors or on the porch on Main Street. All of their service staff are top notch! You won't be sorry.

It was Smithfield Restaurant Week, so my wife and I decided to take advantage and dine at one of our favorite places, The Smithfield Inn. The warm atmosphere; the friendly welcoming staff; real Southern hospitality service, and the fabulous food. To put it bluntly, our meal was a deal. A 3-course adventure for $30 each. The Inn did not disappoint. 1st course, she had the prosciutto wrapped asparagus with lemon vinaigrette, two light delightful pieces of prosciutto ham wrapped around four asparagus spears. I had the crispy pork belly with ginger lime soy glaze. 5 cubed pieces of adult candy, wonderful. 2nd course, she the Mediterranean Pasta, all vegetarian: shallots, garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, kalamata olives, feta cheese on linguine pasta. A tremendous bowl of deliciousness big enough for the two of us. I had the BBQ Duck Legs. Two grilled leg and thigh pieces covered in a chipotle bar-b-que sauce with mango glaze, served with smoked cabbage cole slaw. Juicy, meaty duck grilled perfectly with just a little heat on the back of your palate. The cole slaw was phenomenal in its own rite with a rich, creamy, smokey flavor. 3rd course, she had the apple crepes with cranberry reduction. I had the mini puff pastry shells with hazelnut cream in a raspberry reduction. Both were incredible. What a way to cap off a gourmet delight. Tea, tax and tip, we spent less than $100 for this lovely night out. Bravo to The Smithfield Inn.

The environment here is so welcoming and warm, the staff always feels like family. The food gets better and better every time we visit, the quality of the food is amazing. Our family loves the historic but still modern feel. Bill always starts a great conversation with us! We love The Smithfield Inn and the Staff! Definitely Recommend coming here!

First tIme here. Pleasant cozy atmosphere and the service was prompt and courteous. The dinner was, well, meh. Had tHe she crab soup, which is my wife's favorite and she couldn't finish it. Strong flour taste. In fact, what she thought was a piece of crab was actually uncooked flour. Crab cakes were good. I could do the roasted potatoes at home better myself. I had the the rockfish and lobster risotto. The fish was cooked perfectly, but the risotto was gummy and no lobster to be found. A bit disappointed overall.

Impeccable, friendly service and terrific food! I was in town and decided to treat myself to a fine dinner. This place fit the bill perfectly. The menu selections were very good without trying to overwhelm the diner. Some menus just have page after page after page of items and to me, that means, they haven't perfected any of them. This establishment has perfected everything on the menu. Not only was service and food good, the ambiance and presentation were noteworthy as well. I was very happy with my experience here.

This hidden gem really shines. She-crab soup and fried pickled okra was awesome! I requested bacon on my blackberry salad and it was so yummy. The fried chicken on the Caesar was seasoned perfectly. We can’t wait to return.

Called to make a reservation but was told the manager had to call us back to verify rooms are available. So I got a call back, the manager said smugly 'we don't have rooms'! If you're in the service industry, especially a B&B, be polite and professional. He could've said 'we'd love to have you if you're passing this way again! This guy just didn't seem to care how he got his message across. I'm sure the property is beautiful but we ended up staying at Smithfield Station Inn.

Great food and service. Bartender knew his history of the area.
