Choosing the Market at Grelen as the venue for our wedding last fall was one of the best decisions we made. The team is top-notch - helping us make key decisions around ceremony site selection, photos, and was quick to provide photo samples from other events around the time of year ours was to take place. The fact that we were able to use so much of the greenery from the venue around the wedding provided a natural, elegant environment for our guests to enjoy happy hour to. Thank you Rey and the entire Grelen team for making our big day a truly memorable day.

We had a lovely visit and lunch a week ago, so we returned. We were told that we couldn't have tap water with our lunch, that we must buy water. The staff person said, "We're losing money." This was ridiculous and simply wrong. The place is expensive, and certainly tap water isn't their main problem. This is the type of price gouging that's everywhere. We won't go back.

5 stars isn't enough for Leslie and her team! I am a photographer who was taking photos of a surprise proposal on one of their trails. Without Leslie and her teams help it would not have gone as well as it did, they went above and beyond to help me and get me to where me and the couple needed to be. Huge shout out to them and would highly recommend them and The Market at Grelen to work with for weddings and photos!

We had a wedding there on September 28, 2024. It was a stunning site, with beautiful fall vistas. The plants on site were seasonal and very colorful. It was great place for a wedding utilizing the tent and the cafe area, and the staff was wonderful.

There is no better place than the Market at Grelen to spend a beautiful fall day. The hiking trails, fabulous gift shop, delicious lunches, and picking up my supply of apples—what more could one want? Oh, wait—maybe the homemade apple gingersnap ice cream? Of course!! 🍎

Two friends and I recently had lunch at Grelen. We have eaten there before and enjoyed it. However, on Wednesday Nov. 6 our food was awful. We could not eat our sandwiches. The curried chicken salad sandwich had so much curry flavoring that it was inedible. The Cuban panini did not in any way (except for the pickles) resemble the menu’s description. It consisted of some grey-looking thin deli slices of something??, not the Papa Weaver’s pork and Kite ham promised by the menu. The turkey panini was also inedible, with the same grey thin slices of some weird deli meat. We were very disappointed that day and had to toss our lunches in the bin. We wished we had eaten at one of Gordonsville’s good dining spots, rather than driving all the way out to Grelen for nothing. I hope Grelen’s cafe quickly improves the quality of its food.

As a wedding planner, it's always such a privilege to work at a venue that has put such thought into the flow & logistics of the day & providing options & back up options that set everyone for the day up for success. Nichole & Rey consistently go so above & beyond to care for their couples & provide a seamless experience for their couples getting married at Grelen, their guests, & the vendor team working the day. A few of my (many) favorite things about this venue - the location possibilities for sunset photos, the absolutely stunning greenhouse rain plan, the ICE CREAM, & the ability to use some of Grelen's own plants in your wedding decor! Notable beyond all of this, though, is a venue team that genuinely cares about you & your day. Highly recommend Grelen for your wedding or event.
