Kristen was amazing in hospitality! She is very down to earth and accommodating. We have been coming to Darby's for the last 8 months. Kristen has always been approachable and professional since we've been dining at Darby's. We look forward to her laid back yet professional vibe. She is truly the reason we frequently visit Darby's Tarvern. She showed up for an all day shift in inclement weather and we definitely appreciate her dedication ❤️. We hope her commute home was safe on this icey night. We respect your selfless dedication on such an icy night! Kristen, you rock! Be safe and we'll see you next week!

Tater tots nice and crunchy. The burger cooked to order, perfectly.

Ordered a steak and got smashed hamburger, the catfish bites were child sized and I know they can do better. Absolutely ridiculous, I will never recommend that garbage again. So disappointed in Berry Hill.

Darby's Tavern is a true local's insider gem. We take all of our visiting family and friends to Darby's. The food, if you can even call it "bar food" is better than good. It's an outstanding meal all around. The service only makes it better. Best kept secret in South Boston!

We ate at this restaurant earlier in the week on a sightseeing trip. And on that trip, I would’ve left a 4 star easy. Although my husband didn’t overly love his meal, we swapped and he was thoroughly satisfied. But on Sunday we returned after booking a 3 day weekend stay, and checked closing time..8:00. We went for a walk around the trails and returned at 7:27. Waitress told us as soon as we walked in that the kitchen was closed for the night. So the party of 4 in front of us (party of 3) and the next 2 couples were turned away. I know restaurants need to close at a specified time, and we usually never cut it that close, but I was surprised at the attitude that we were a nuisance just by walking in. And it’s maybe a good idea to post that the kitchen closes a half hour before actual closing so people won’t waste their time. When the other couple turned away complained to the desk clerk, he said he had no idea why they’d be closing early, they usually didn’t do that. Plenty of restaurants in South Boston happy to serve us, so we didn’t go hungry. Not sure I’ll return, even if we stay at the hotel again.
We were here late afternoon and ordered off the dinner menu. Husband had the marinated stead with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetable. He said the steak was very good. I had the salmon with aspargus and broccolli. Aspargus and broccolli were good the salmon was over cooked and dry. I thought both dinners could have been a little warmer, broccolli was cold before I could finish it.

I was very disappointed with the food. The menu had the Mothers Day Brunch listed as having assorted cheesecakes and mashed potatoes as one of the sides. Desserts were key lime pie, shortcake, bread pudding and there was no cheesecake. The only side was grilled vegetables..no potatoes of any sort. I will not be back for any buffets…waste of money for a very special m event.

Interesting location, wish we had seen in the daytime. Mediocre food, indifferent service
Great food, good service
Berry Hill Property and Tavern atmosphere is very nice, cozy, and clean. Service was initially attentive and fell off very quickly during our time there. Water not not refilled once in an hour+ nor did waitress check up on us really at all. We were a party of 5, most got salads, and ticket time was around 40 mins which is pretty slow.I got the pan roasted chicken which was $21 roughly and it was literally the size of a single wing with two bites of meat surrounding, not even exaggerating. I would estimate it was 3 ounces of meat max which is nuts for $20+. It was $2 worth of meat. Covering it was a goopy, thick strange cream sauce described as a citrus glaze or sauce. The steamed broccoli and fries (likely frozen) were fine and similar to something I could throw in the air fryer myself. Not much competition around this area and the property is awesome, I just think there needs to be a little more effort put into the creativity, food quality, and service. Either that or remove some of the items and focus solely on pub fare (burgers, wings, etc).

Great bar and restaurant at Berry Hill Resort. I have come here for many years and Darby’s Tavern is at the top of their game. The bar staff is the best ever with Kristen, Jamie, Selena and Dallas (yes I have been here a week already). The food is tops as well. No need to leave the property if you stay at Berry Hill!!
