If you want small town cafe with fresh ingredients in tasty dishes served by wonderful people who care about the customer and the community this is the spot. It's a great sized menu where every dish is great. Also have wonderful tea selection which I really enjoy, make sure ask about special flavors of ice tea. Then finish it all off with some dessert from the case, personal favorite fresh cream filled Oreo doughnut.

These are remarkable young women! They’re such kind and friendly people. We had order the macaroon's, I was afraid the babies wouldn’t eat them. They were made with love I can tell you that. We ordered fruity pebbles macaroons, they had some fruity pebbles in the filling and when I tell you the kids ate them up it wasn’t even 2 seconds and they were gone. I would definitely recommend everyone to recommend someone to keep this business going and not disappearing like so of the others!!!!❤️❤️

I Recently had the opportunity to dine at Southern Plenty in downtown South Boston, Virginia. Despite the busy breakfast crowd, our party of 9 was accommodated without hesitation. I can't say enough about the great service and nice staff! The food was exceptional! I ordered cream cheese stuffed French toast with bananas and bacon. It was not too sweet with just the right amount of syrup. Scrumptious! ? My side of hash brown casserole was the best I had ever eaten and I particularly liked the fact that you could help yourself to refills at their coffee station. Vegan choices are also available as a menu option. The cafe's warm relaxing atmosphere greets you as you come in the door. Southern Plenty was under new management (Leah) when we had our wonderful experience. I'm eager to taste future, exquisite and delectable dishes Leah and her staff will have to offer at this charming and unique restaurant!!

Passing through and the man at the nearby shoe store recommended this place. It was quite busy but we got a table right when we ordered. Choices were somewhat unusual but in a good way. My husband had the Po Boy with shrimp and bacon and macaroni salad (sweet) as side. I had the pulled pork sandwich with sauerkraut and onion jam which was good. The chicken meatball soup was the side. The soup wasn't hot enough but the flavor was good. All the food was good. Ambience was good. Busy cafe but not overwhelming. The staff were all friendly. Had to wait a bit for our food but you knew it was made for you. Ate two truffles which were great. Would recommend to anyone passing through. The coffees and flavors looked good but we didn't get any!

Stayed at Staunton River State Park and headed into South Boston for breakfast at Southern Plenty. Food was pretty good, coffee was excellent though. Had pancakes with eggs and bacon and an iced mocha. The pancakes were alright, but nothing too amazing. My wife got a ham, brie and onion jam sandwich which was quite delicious… she offered me a bite.. I took two. The overall experience was quite nice and I would definitely check it out if you’re near by.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Southern Plenty. The ambience is a Traditional lunch counter. You order your meal at the register. Desserts are there to tempt you in the glass case as you order. You can also just visit for ice cream or a shake. I had one of their specials the veggie quiche that was also gluten free. No crust. It was very good! It came with a side and corn bread muffin for $9. I got the pickled beets and got cheese. My only critique would be that the pickled beats and goat cheese salad was in too much liquid.. my husband had the bright leaf salad. Everything was very fresh and flavorful!! We really enjoyed our meal. Staff was also helpful and friendly, the place is located on the main downtown Street for South Boston. Street parking is available. There is also a public parking lot a couple blocks away.

Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. The food was delicious, and the latte was better than the well-known national chain. Service was a little slow, but we were not in a hurry. Once we were helped, the staff was very friendly. The prices are fair and what you'd expect for the quality of the product. The layout is a little confusing, though. It's parts of a bistro, coffee shop, bakery, and shop all rolled together. All in all, it was an enjoyable visit and a good value.

This is a very nice and quaint place to eat with coffee. I love having the lavender latte. The service is great, and the desserts are delicious. They also have awesome specials. I love the shrimp and grits.

Not real food, they don't cook anything. It's just lunch meats and sandwich stuff that you can already make in your home kitchen. You can make a better meal yourself at home in 2 minutes. Not worth

Ordered a salad with double chicken to go, received ZERO chicken. Not the first time our order was missing items or incorrect. Always check the entire order before walking out.
