It was 2 peopl and we was sat down pretty fast but took about 5mins to get our drink order then another 5 mins to get drinks and take our food order. We order coffee and soda both got empty before waitress came back and only reason she came then is to bring food witch was cold like it sat for a while before she brought it to us this was 4years ago so today 1/16/26 decided to try them again and it thes same outcome so Iam thru with this restaurant the one in Henderson nc is awesome the ones that run that store need to come to south hill va and get this right

We had a few reservations about going back after things have declined over the past number of years, however we were pleasantly surprised. We had been going to Cracker Barrel for many years, but the food quality had slowly bit surely gone downhill and we hadn't been to one for a couple of years. This time, the food was definitely improved.

Their service has almost always been excellent, including this location.

HORRIBLE!!! We were traveling from out of town. We stopped in for dinner. I ordered catfish, my fiance ordered shepherds pie. The server came back 15 minutes later and told me they were out of catfish so I ordered another meal. Another 20 minutes passed and our server came back and told us my food was ready but they had no shepherds pie. Needless to say we, we left. They didn't even comp us the one glass of tea we each had while we were waiting.

Very disappointed with the service. Waitress was new and told us it was fault with the kitchen. I needed to go to the hostess desk twice to ask for items and check on our food . Our order was taken at 256 and deliver til 345 and that was only two of the meals out of 3guests .. the 3rd guest received their food 15 mins later. This was on 1-1-26. 3rd guest didn't receive all the items listed in menu.... Very dissatisfied with our visit .

We have been to this location I think three times now and the service is not great. The food is always good no complaints. Having been a waitress myself waiting for around ten minutes for your server to greet you and get your drink orders is very poor service. That was every time and once our order was never placed. Probably not going back.

I love Cracker Barrel but this location is horrible. I understand maybe they were short staffed but there was 0 communication. Just to sit was a wait (plenty of tables and no hostess). Then the food took a long time to come out. Soup was salty tasted straight out of a can. Small portions compared to other CB's. No apologies for any of this. Even to pay the bill there was a line (15 min wait). I will not be back to visit this one.

The food was very good, and the server was excellent even though it was Christmas Eve. She was pleasant and efficient.
