Stopped by just street lunch during a weekday. The place was almost completely empty. I was asked to pick any seat. Found a table (sticky table at that) and waited until a waitress was able to had me a menu and get my drink order, then disappeared. There was some confusion around the hostess station that seemed to drop my order. Someone finally remembered came work my drink and apology. No harm no foul. She took my order of fish and shrimp with baked potatoe and okra, and off she went.

10 min later she brought my order. The fish pieces seemed small but tasty. My only complaint was it was on the cold side. The rest of the order was actually very nice.

Their then seemed to be a loud and boisterous conversation between all the employees. Then the most disturbing part of the visit. I could easily hear the staff talking about day old food and if it should be thrown away as there was some YELLOW SLIME on the bottom.

I then decided it was time to leave. While I never got sick and my food was actually decent, I wouldn't eat there again, if for no other reason the YELLOW SLIME debate.

Slow service like molasses in January on a 17 degree day, food was not great. Atmosphere was ok. Overpriced for meager portions, 5 maybe six burnt and undercooked onion rings. 1 order was burned, the other undercooked and definitely not fresh or homemade. The frozen ones. Burger King Onion rings are way better and you fert more. I have had better gas station or store bought pulled pork. Empty dining area and parking lot should have been a dead giveaway.

First time trying catfish. I can see why people love it. My food was so hot I had to take a minute to let it cool. Olivia was a sweetheart. She seemed almost as excited as me that I was trying catfish.

My meal was wonderful, the service was kind and inviting, and it just seems like a warm friendly place.

I waited to eat my hushpuppies until my meal came. Should have eaten those fresh. I’ll try that next time.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner this past Friday. The food is amazing. Classic Southern Virginia BBQ! We both got the pork BBQ plate. Hers was sliced and mine minced. BBQ had great flavor and that Southern VA sauce. I had slaw and cabbage. She had green beans and baked potato. Hush puppies are so good!
We're from Petersburg and grew up with Kings. Wilson's is a good and comparable BBQ place. Miss that sit down BBQ joint. 🤩We'll def be stopping in with the whole tribe soon!

Food is good and reasonably priced

First time, stopped in for lunch. Had the minced BBQ pork sandwich with coleslaw and French fries. Fries were good, slaw was very good, not watery and the minced BBQ was delicious. Our waitress was on top of her game. The place was very clean and we had a great experience.

This restaurant has TRUE cooking!! They have different specials each night of the week. Their menu is diverse but I strongly suggest the oysters & flounder. The Staff are Wonderful also. Please stop in!!

Best fresh fish ! Worth stopping by. Very Casual and lots of homemade side dishes. Don't forget the many desserts ready to go up front! Thank you from a I-85 traveler.
