My wife and I just finished our 3 night stay at the carriage house. We chose this due to its close proximity to Old Rag but due to a fall and some stitches in my wife's knee the week before going, we unfortunately had to skip the Old Rag hike. The host Jimm had plenty of great suggestions for lighter hikes and his hospitality was top tier. The carriage house was clean and cozy and Jimm's breakfasts were delicious! Sitting on the porch with some wine after a day of hiking...
Our family spent a lot of time at Sharp Rock over the years. Jimm is always a great host and we always enjoyed the wines and food. This is a great place for couples, groups, or families to enjoy wine, food, the Hughes river, and the natural beauty of Rappahannock county.
We stumbled upon this wonderful place on our way to hiking Old Rag. We needed to use some soap and water on my partner’s glasses because she got sun screen on them. We grabbed a bottle of wine while we were there — which I just opened and am enjoying. (delicious!). The wine is good, the ambience is cool, and it’s a friendly place. Glad life steered us there!
