The food is always delicious. The date night menu was a very nice menu for the price. We always enjoy our experience there.

The food and service is always great here. My only suggestion would be to change the lighting. It's very bright without much ambiance.

Always a great place to have dinner in Stanardsville, VA. We love the historic feel of building. Quiet, casual dining room. Dinner was excellent, with exceptional service. Favorite appetizer is fried green tomatoes. Special entrees are always a good choice.

we tried to like it but failed. Nice drive to find it but food value nowhere near their prices. Go to Charlottesville.

The Lafayette Inn and Restaurant has a lovely colonial ambience akin to a place you might visit in Colonial Williamsburg. My daughter enjoyed a last summer dinner together before she began her classes at UVA. The menu offered a wide variety at not cheap, but reasonable prices. We both enjoyed the petit filet stack. Our server, Julia, was kind and responsive. I would recommend this short and scenic drive from Charlottesville to visit this restaurant. For many reasons I will remember that dinner with a smile.

It is an old establishment that could use some TLC. The young waitress was marvelous, but the food was ok and didn't live up to the prices.

Friends, we chose to go here for our anniversary based on the reviews and photos of the historic building. We arrived, and the parking lot and grounds were infested by at least a dozen feral cats-several which were laying by the door marked ‘KITCHEN.’ We debated leaving, but convinced ourselves to go inside. We got out of the car and the property smells horrifically of cat urine. We went back to the car. We convinced ourselves to try again…we went into the building, owner greeted us, and we asked about the cats. It was clearly a nonissue and he assured us they are not inside. We entered the dining room which was consumed by a moldy and damp basement odor. We sat to eat in an empty and dingy room. The waitress was plenty nice. However, the odor and overall environment caused concern as to the conditions of the kitchen. In addition, anyone with respiratory health issues is advised to go somewhere else-I didn’t last 10 minutes before we had to leave. We ended up driving 45 minutes into Charlottesville where we enjoyed our anniversary dinner at an establishment that we gave a 5 star review!

I rarely write reviews but wanted to give a shout-out to this place and Alan who couldn't have been nicer. I was on a bike tour and had a broken derailleur cable. I had a spare to fix it but did not have wire cutters and Alan was gracious to dig a pair out from his truck to lend me. The rooms/suites are awesome and clean with lots of historic charm and even had a Keurig with plenty of coffee to get me started. If you're passing through Stanardsville you should definitely consider staying here!

Very cozy and intimate. The inn was very cute and comfortable. My steak was overcooked but they very kindly recooked it for me to absolute perfection

Actually noise level was none. But the app didn't like my reply. Great meal and wonderful spot for a romantic dinner ... we should have stayed overnight there as well for the evening better experience

I had not heard about this restaurant until I found it on OpenTable. It is an excellent place to eat. The food and service were wonderful. The hardest part was deciding what to eat; everything looked good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I'm going back again.

Wonderful, accommodating owners and the best breakfast I have ever had an a bed and breakfast! Loved the fireplaces in every room!
