Frequent stop when passing through.

Came hungry after long hike in Shenandoah. Affordable, large portions, great taste. Chicken parm and fried pickles were awesome - would definitely recommend. Beyond they food, they had $4 beers and really nice staff. We had a very enjoyable time.

Also a bonus… gum-ball machine.

We came to Sal’s Pizzeria in Stanardsville originally just planning to grab some pizza after a hike—but the menu looked so good, we ended up ordering everything else! The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made us feel right at home.

There were great options for everyone in our group, and everything we tried was delicious. Our favorites were the chicken cutlet parmigiana and the fried pickles, which were a super tasty surprise. We finished with a tiramisu that was the perfect sweet ending to an amazing meal. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

Beware if you order a pizza and get different toppings on each half. We got meat lovers on half and pineapple, olives and extra cheese on the other. They charged us $3 per topping even though they did not put meat in the other half. I have never been to a pizza place that did this. A medium pizza was over $30. This was not advertised not was it disclosed when we ordered. Service... Not much, brought our food out turn the next we saw them was for the check when though the place was pretty much empty.

Menu says 10.99 for an order of 10 wings. Placed an order for 2 10 piece wings. Went to pay and the price was 30.50. I asked how they could charge a 50% tax? They said “oh that’s not really our price for wings” I Will never return.

The only pizza place by our vacation home.

20yrs Sal's is where people would come after school game's and after school students. Slowly it's become a
Down fall. I understand teaching the younger ones, but I see (No supervision) Sal I appreciate your service.

They were nice enough there, but unfortunately they totally messed up our order. Spinach, artichoke, and meatballs somehow turned into salami, anchovies, and meatballs. On top of this the Stromboli was like greasy bread, so even if it was right it would have been meh. Also got a Caesar salad that came with creamy Italian and the powdered Parmesan from a can. The Parmesan was, I guess, fine. However, creamy Italian is not a substitute for Caesar dressing.
