Went and ordered the meat lovers omelette. Omelette was humongous, but the bean portion was tiny. While I do like the portion of the omelette, and my drink. Very well done. I will not be going again. For the second time they put my order in a to go box when I said here, and they didn’t even bring me water when I asked. They also only bring you water when asked, and charge extra for cheese in your omelette. The bathroom was also not very clean. Toilet needs cleaning, and it was just so drab. I wanted to save money, too. I should have made something at home.
Be sure to try their horchata! The owners were friendly and the food is delicious.

A quick search for “authentic Mexican in Charlottesville” brought me here. Thus providing me with a brief and bittersweet visit to the fine people at Sombreros. A memory that is sure to endure for the following reasons:
Hands down the best Chimichanga I’ve ever eaten. Slightly crispy exterior, with rice, cheese and tender steak inside. And so much flavour! I also had 2 tacos (steak and chicken) which were excellent. The salsa verde must have been home made because it tasted so fresh with great flavour.
As a visitor from Canada, only in CVille for the weekend, I fear I am going to be craving that Chimichanga for years to come. As the famous saying goes; best to love the chimichangas that got away, than to regret the ones that never were.
Muchas gracias and adios Sombreros 👋 may fate one day bring me back.

Very tasty Mexican food and excellent coffee. Probably the best Horchata in CVille. Affordable and with outdoor seating.

I had the carne asada taco and it was delicious. The steak was seasoned perfectly. I would show a picture but I finished it before I even thought about it 😋. Will definitely be back.

Food was pretty horrible. Ordered a chicken fajita burrito with veggies.
First off the portion is tiny, it’s like they used some tiny low quality grocery store tortilla that was cardboard tasting
Second, a two dollar charge for veggies and it was like two small pieces of pepper.
The overall experience was like having a worse version of a taco Tuesday. Anyone could have made a better and more filling version at home

Where do I even begin. I saw someone else describe this place as a hidden gem and I couldn't agree more! The owners are so sweet and the coffee was fantastic. I haven't lived in C'Ville long but I have been to A LOT of coffee shops and can confidently say this is one of the best ones I have visited!

This place is surprisingly good! Chorizo corn tacos seasoned expertly as if made for a family meal. Delicious, simple, and healthy. Also enjoyed a sumptuous cappuccino. Will be back!
