Food was good, collards are surprisingly good but sweet. Steak was not bad either. The Strawberry jalapeño lemonade is a must though

We have always enjoyed our meals at Paladin (Stephens City) and consider it to be one of the better restaurants in the area. However, on our most recent visit, my wife ordered steak and I ordered meatloaf and frankly, both were atrocious. The steak had so much gristle that it was essentially inedible, while my meatloaf (which has been a past favorite) had obviously been made using the same beef, ground up. Who ever heard of a meatloaf, difficult to cut, and full of gristle ? Has a decent cut of beef become impossible to find or too expensive for the restaurant to purchase ? I would like to know.

My experience at Paladins was nothing short of excellent. From the atmosphere to the service to the food. It was sublime all the way around. Our server Maddy, was again nothing short of excellent. Her knowledge of the inner working of the menu made our experience that much more enjoyable and memorable. She made sure that our food was as perfect as it could’ve been. If I were to recommend anything on the menu it would be the Philly Cheese Steak Eggrolls. The best possible recommendation from our server.

We had mozzarella sticks good, the cheese steak egg rolls. They were good but the sauce could be improved on I feel. The ribeye was cooked medium to perfection and ate it without A1 and the chicken Alfredo was delish. The greens were great. And so we're the mashed potatoes. Sweet tea was good. Server was pleasant and everything was great for Valentine's Day dinner. Thanks to all the staff for your hard work and great food. It's not easy to find good food at a fair price with good service these days and they nailed it 😎💪

First off, the restaurant atmosphere is great. Live music and cool little cozy table areas provide a cool place to chill in the restaurant. I started out with an order of fried pickles and an old fashioned. The pickles were great.. the drink would have been great except it showed up with crushed ice.. That’s a definite no no in the bourbon world! For a $14 drink, you think a solid ice cube or ball would have been used to prevent dilution. The drink was literally diluted and watered down as soon as it arrived at the table. For dinner I ended up ordering a specialty burrito with chicken. It arrived fairly quickly but it was lukewarm warm at best, and pretty tasteless. My wife ordered vegetarian beet sandwich that appeared to have steamed broccoli on it.. it was tasteless too. This is our second attempt with this restaurant and unfortunately probably our last. I recommend this place if you’re gonna have a few beers, but definitely skip their food and specialty cocktails. The end bill for my wife and I was over $80. As a final note, their waitstaff was great but they definitely need to address their bartending and kitchen staff.

Went here for lunch, mixed experience, good food, good service, just a few other things detracted from a great experience.
Beautiful day, so sat outside. Our sever was very good, no issues at all except for the end, had to hunt her down to get our bill, but that was the only thing, as she checked on us several times throughout our stay.
Food was good, and HUGE portions. Be advised, even our server stated “we serve big portions”. Ordered two small salads, they were both the size of a full meal, which would have been too much, had we ordered the larger size. Also had a cheesesteak appetizer, and a small side of fries, both very good. The appetizers and salads were more than enough for lunch.
A couple things stood out that detracted from a great experience. The first is a little odd, in that they bring huge water glasses with straws that are shorter than the glass, so the top of the straw is actually down inside the glass…odd.
The other issue was because it was outside, people would come out and sit at tables and smoke, so our lunch was interrupted several times by someone’s cigarette smoke…not enjoyable at all.
Would I go back…maybe, but would be a bummer if it’s a beautiful day outside, as we would have to deal with cigarette smokers.
Would I recommend…maybe, but not for sitting outside unless you are a smoker.
