The food is delicious! The ribs were perfectly smoked and fork tender. Reasonably priced too. You owe it to yourself!

Came here tonight for the first time and I’m so glad I did. The food is fantastic. I got the catfish and whiting platter with mac and cheese, corn bread, Cajun fries since they were out of collard greens, and a side of fried shrimp. The fish was fried perfectly, the fries were the perfect texture, and the mac and cheese was super creamy. Hopefully next time they have collard greens, because I can just tell they’re good by how everything else tastes! There are many tables inside to sit at as well as a tv to watch. I believe the food is made to order so it tastes very fresh. The employees and owner were also all incredibly kind and friendly. I would suggest that they do more marketing on Instagram and start a TikTok, as well as updating their yelp page. I really want to see this business boom, especially since there are are little to no good soul food places in the area. Can’t wait to come back and try something new!

Stop there for the first time and the food was amazing. I met the owner. He was extremely nice and his son checked this out who was extremely nice the shrimp, the cornbread, the fries, the homemade coleslaw we will definitely be back.

I hate to give negative reviews however I have to be honest I just moved to the area from Maryland and I’m from Baltimore so I know what soul food should taste like and this was not it. I did an online pick up because it seems to have had pretty positive reviews. I order the cat fish platter with 2 sides. I got the Mac & Cheese and Yams the Mac & Cheese texture was good however it had absolutely no flavor or taste at all! The Yams were dry like the gave some out of yesterdays pan. The fish was not bad but the were the smallest pieces of cat fish I have ever received from a dinner spot. Don’t think I will going back there I feel like I wasted my money. I don’t get how an establishment can put food out with no taste or flavor. It’s like is the cook tasting the food while they’re actually preparing it.

I’m sorry, but those who were raving about the food here are misled. I’m for helping small business but what I got was awful. For delivery I ordered the catfish but for some reason it ended up being the fried whiting. Maybe blessing in disguise? Got Mac and cheese along with greens. The bag smelled initially of bad fish. The 2 pieces provided were horrible. Rubbery, bad coating, and you can tell it wasn’t fresh but possibly old. Mac and cheese looked good but flavorless. Greens were decent but had a bit too much salt. Hopefully won’t get sick and so disappointed. Think I’ll give 1.5 stars actually. Avoid

Amazing ribs, meat fell off the bone, so glad I found this hidden gem. Will definitely be coming back!

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and was highly impressed. We ordered fried fish, mac & cheese, yams, and greens. The presentation of the food was impressive and everything was delicious!!! Waiter was friendly and explained the menu. I will definitely be back as the food was worth every penny. ?

C & E Southern Bites is underrated.
No, I wasn’t paid for this review. But I will say the fried whiting, chicken wings, and Cajun fries have me in a chokehold.

Everything I’ve tried here tastes high quality, tastes great, and is a great value!

I decided to walk over here while waiting for my vehicle to be detailed.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted with a bright, open space, all of the tables and chairs arranged just so, and everything looked VERY clean! There aren’t many decorations if you’re looking for a cozy ambiance, but if you just need a clean place to dine (especially with a lot of people in your party), this space is great.

There is a kiosk you can use to order, or you can go up to the counter, where you are greeted by either the friendly owner, his son, or one of their employees.

Now, I’m trying to be better for my wallet, but I had to come here the next day to order more food from here because my first experience was SO GOOD.

On a scale of Meh to Mind-Blowingly Amazing (???‍↕️??), here’s what I’ve had from C & E Southern Bites:
- Fried whiting ? juicy, flakey
- Fried catfish ? great coating
- Fried chicken wings ? juicy, crispy
- Fried okra ?
- Cajun fries ??? holy smokes the seasoning is great, texture of fries is optimal
- Potato salad ? great flavor
- Yum yum sauce ?
- Sweet potato pie ?? grrreat seasoning
- Cornbread ???

I honestly don’t know why this place only has 4 stars or why there isn’t more traffic here.
I hardly ever leave reviews, but I really want this place to be successful. The owner and his son are so sweet.

I really hope this place sticks around, as it is hard to find quality places like this in NoVa.

I ordered here for the first time. Very excited to have soul food close by where I live. However, they short me 1 order of candied yams. I called and they stated they have to check the cameras, which is fine. Waiting on that call back though. Besides that, I ordered 3 orders, 1 order of fried fish platters and 2 orders of shrimp platters. The shrimp was good. The fish could use more seasoning and the collard greens. The Mac n cheese was awful! Barely any cheese, not seasoned at all. This isn't southern food, soul food, etc. I am curious who is cooking and who came up with these recipes? The food can be much better. Waiting on my call.

Just purchased a fish platter and Chicken wing platter. Unfortunately the fish was horrible. I did not seem freshly cooked. May have been left over from earlier in the day. The chicken was fair and edible but i was still a bit disappointed. The sides were ok. Hopefully they pay attention to the not so good reviews in an effort to improve. I'll wait a month or so and try again. Best wishes to them

Food was excellent even if they are cowboy fans

I had heard good things about this spot so I stopped in. Customer service was great. Pleasant conversation with the cashier, and later the owner. I got the pulled pork with hush puppies and mac & cheese. I also got the cornbread. The portions were good, with enough for lunch tomorrow. The Carolina BBQ sauce is very tasty. Same with the Bang Bang sauce. Tru this restaurant if you want some good comfort food!

Great food...Great people...Try it out!!!

The fried whiting, wings, and shrimp were nicely fried and seasoned. We also had the greens, yams, fries, and macaroni. The sides were good too. The family and I will definitely order here again.
