Just tried Captain Mas for the first time and were delighted. Husband ordered the Rock Fish and I ordered the "create your own" with Lobster Tail and Scallops. Beautifully plated, delicious, good and polite service, Yacht Rock music, campy decor, and clean reataurant. We will gladly return again.

A seafood restaurant that opens at 4 p.m. Spacious and clean space. The food portion is generous and well seasoned, shrimps.

Really poor service and the food was mediocre. Don't see this place lasting but it still remains.

Person who took us to table (possibly owner??) was on an earpiece phone call the entire time seating us ... barely acknowledging us. Only positive- We had a very friendly courteous server. Food was cold , tasteless, and way overpriced. There was maybe 2 other tables with people when we were there (should've been our red flag to leave). Extremely disappointed.

I've been to many places for crabs/seafood but THIS PLACE along with its wonderful staff and most importantly owner Sean makes it one of a kind place, he's so welcoming and personable and with charm which is rare. They have amazing crabs and everything seafood AND they welcome our dog Theo with not only table set up but also w cold ice water table for the pup. Thank you Mr. Sean and family for always making our dining experience unforgettable! Till next time LISA, STEVE AND THEO thank you!

Hey So with most of my reviews I like to point out the GOOD in an establishment...Letssss Goooo Looking for Blue Crabs ...it's a weekly fix (addicted) So we're working late and I come to Yelp for reviews/recommendations Captain Mas comes up.... I find that most of the reviews were inviting So we try them out When we arrive there are numerous boats in the parking lot I guess it's a part of the scenery Once inside were greeted by William (I think) But he's also our server I expected to see more people because it's Happy Hour and the restaurant looks like it had the potential to be a good place We ordered hush puppies, calamari, crab artichoke dip and fries... all we're ok We ordered their Xl crabs The Crabs had been previously cooked and warmed up once ordered Now for every crab that had a problem they replaced We had several bad crabs(no need to explain what bad meant) I'll end my review with this The service was ok But based off the actual food... it's a hard No

Wow, a hidden gem! Not busy at all on a Friday night. They have room for large tables too! Reservations are accepted but not necessary. Everyone was friendly, including the couple we talked to on the way out of the restaurant. They were relatively new to the area from California. They ordered crab cakes (which looked amazing, nice lump crab) and crab stuffed shrimp (we already knew that was good). If that was you and you are reading this, hit me up on yelp and we can meet for dinner!

Returned to the capt today for some delicious seafood. I have to tell you, the food is amazing! Portions are large and the adult drinks are very good but a little pricey. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Great service and very good tasting food. Didn’t go for boil, but combo meal was delicious.

This is truly a hidden gem in northern Virginia. Located in Sterling; not easily seen from the street and even when you enter from the main roads, it is difficult to see. The interior decor is a little dated; but it does provide you with a nostalgic seafood restaurant near a beach. Once you taste the food you will be amazed on how good everything tasted. The service was great, the food was great and pricing was great. I'd imagine if this restaurant was in downtown Brambleton or One Loudon pricing will be a lot higher. We got the gator tots and oyster shooter trio as an appetizer. I ordered the seafood combo scampi. People in party ordered the lobster stuffed with crab and teriyaki salmon. The mashed potatoes is one of the best I have ever had!

We arrived just as they opened at 4 pm and we're a bit taken aback when told that our food might be delayed because the cook had not yet arrived. The cook must have arrived post haste as our orders of Maryland crab soup and New England clam chowder arrived within 10 minutes and our entrees before we finish our soups. My husband loved his chowder that had plenty of bacon in it. My crab soup was almost as good as my grandmother's, high praise from this Maryland native! This soup had an abundance of lump crabmeat vs the half crabs my grandmother tossed in. My husband ordered the fried shrimp platter which had six large, lightly breaded shrimp, good coleslaw, and perfect steak fries. My crab cake, served as a sandwich, was so good that I was sorry I hadn't ordered the two crab cake platter! Loads of lump crabmeat and no filler! I am of the opinion that crab cakes are best eaten on crackers, the way my grandmother ate them, so ate my crab cake sans the roll, a tasty brioche roll that I consumed after the crab cake. The only thingsI would suggest would be leaving off the red onion - sacrilege! - and using vine ripe tomatoes which are in season now. We don't get in this way often, usually, as tonight, when headed to Wolftrap. We might have to make a special trip in just for Captain Mas!

This is my 2nd time here and I continue to be very happy with the good service, great drinks, and delicious food. Large shrimps and nice blue crabs. Even the pasta dishes are fantastic! The food is all cooked fresh and made to order. This is definitely a hidden gem for seafood in Loudoun county.

I’m speechless! This place it’s wonderful and provides an excellent service. The staff super friendly and attentive, Leo and Amic (might be spelling it wrong) made the experience 10x better, they’re the best! The owner came to us and checked on us, who does that anymore? We felt very appreciated and welcomed. Definitely coming back. The food is delicious, so much meat in the crab and so much flavor! The desserts are a must too, so good.
