I really love their food. I always get good customer service here. The place is well kept and the cashiers are always helpful. I highly recommend this place.
Fantastic Ramen!!! Great service despite the current Covid situation.
Great atmosphere and been here many times, too. To the point even my American friends love it!
So my wife and I have been to Marumen many times in Fairfax and it was always good. My friend and his wife wanted to go to the Sterling location since it also had sushi so we says sure. The restaurant is nice and new, clean and large. We were seated quickly and we got our tea and water quickly. We asked about the edamane that is always given to you at Marumen and our waiter said yes they will get it. So we ordered 5 bowls and two rolls with a order of the chicken for our friends daughter. We wait for a good 5 to 8 minutes, no edamane. So I ask another server and she gets it right away. Our ramen and large arrive and we ask about the sushi. It should be ready soon, so we start to eat. Broth was good, noodles also. The chashu was horrible.... Normally it can be cut with no effort with a chopstick,. This one I could bounce off the table if I wanted to. I tried to take a bite and it was tuff. I asked my wife and hers was the same. My friends also said it was tuff. The color wasn't there either,. Not compared to the other location, it needed more time to cook.We were disappointed in it. So we finished the noodles and soup and about 40 or so minutes after we ordered and finished the sushi arrived. It wasn't bad or good, it was ok. Nothing to make me want it again since I have had sushi from grocery stores that were better. Our server also was not to be fine found allot, the other server was helping us more as we flagged her down. I think she knew why and she was very willing to help.So Imy wife said won't be back to this location, not with a location that's much closer and is constant. I agree, Maybe it was a bad day there but it wasn't busy at all so I can't think that was a reason to cause the issues we had. Hopefully the correct the issues.
Awesome Japanese spot unlike anything around!
Very good, spicy ramen and fantastic pork belly.
Was ok. One issue. I noticed dried brown streaks on the inside of the glass...after I drank half of it. I'll double back to this post after a few days to see how I feel then.
Such a blessing to figure out that there's not only a Marumen in Fairfax, but at a nice, modernized community at Sterling as well! Food and service was just as great as my other experience, and definitely can't forget how great of an indoor vibe this place has to offer. I'll be coming here more often for all my ramen cravings!
I come here rather often. The food is good compared to other Japanese restaurants in the immediate area. My only complaint is that I think the location in Fairfax is better overall for a couple of reasons. 1) The Sterling location doesn't have the same quaint, quirky charm, and instead has a motif that looks like any other contemporary restaurant in a suburb. 2) There's a bit of "pandering to the masses," because the Sterling location added a sushi menu. 3) The food while good, just isn't as good at this location. That being said, service is always very quick, and I've never had to wait a long time to be seated, which is definitely a problem sometimes at the Fairfax location.
I had a superb experience at this spot. We loved the nice atmosphere and the menu. The staff members are super friendly. I am content we finally decided to visit this restaurant.

Disappointing. Got the "short rib" ramen, the meat was a tough stew beef, definitely not short rib. Beer glass was dirty and noticed a seaweed flake or something floating in my beer at the end of the meal. The place was pretty dead and the staff seemed a little disinterested. I was really looking forward to trying this place. Burton's was jumping next door though!
I wanted to like the ramen more. It tasted just good, but I was expecting the food to wow me a bit more. The venue and service were very good.
The food is great but if you get sushi it takes awhile for it to come out
Delicious ramen and decent sushi at a good price. This is the spicy miso ramen with extra pork. That pork belly complements the broth with a little sweetness and the fat is melt in your mouth delicious! The broth is Rich and flavorful but not too spicy. Also an excellent marinated egg, perfectly cooked. Will be back for sure.
Super excited that this place opened up near me. Now I don't have to drive all the way to Fairfax for my ramen fix. Fried rice is a great value as well.
