Mission BBQ, Sterling, VA, feels like family to us. They've been helping us celebrate 103 year old Dad's birthday for several years now. My WWII vet Dad, Victor, has a booth dedicated to him there with his photo up as a young soldier. We know pretty much everyone who works there. They fed about 8K veterans FOR FREE this past Veteran's Day. They go above and beyond and really take care of all veterans and service workers. The people who worked there are the most kind and caring and the food is quality, oh-so-good, fabulous to cater any party or when you just don't feel like cooking. I stopped by for the first time today, and I am impressed. I ordered the brisket, and it was hands down the best I’ve had in a long time—perfectly tender, juicy, and full of flavor.
On top of the great food, the staff was super friendly and made the experience even better.

Super welcoming and cozy atmosphere, amazing staff and such good food. I got the pulled pork sandwich NC style with fries and a drink. They give you as much sauce as you want for free, and you get a ton of meat with the sandwich. The sandwich itself tasted amazing and they even threw in a free dessert because it my first time eating there. Will be going here much more often!!

My family and I had the pleasure of enjoying the most delicious Smoked Holiday Turkey meal and absolutely scrumptious sides for Thanksgiving as prepared by the Mission BBQ of Sterling, Virginia. Every aspect of our order was perfect! From the actual order submission to the day of pickup, the professionalism and attention to detail was clearly evident. Our order was beautifully packaged with precise reheating instructions. The sides were delivered in very sturdy aluminum trays and the star of the meal, the boneless smoked turkey breast, was wrapped in sturdy clear wrap. In addition, the entire meal was packed in a strong cardboard Mission BBQ sealed box.
All food items were fully cooked and only required reheating, thus saving so much time and work to prepare the Thanksgiving meal. The taste of the sides, and especially the smoked turkey, was absolutely delicious. The turkey was so moist with a wonderful smoky flavor.
My family and I wish to extend our most sincere appreciation to the General Manager, Ed Vargas, and his entire Mission BBQ team for their professionalism and outstanding effort in providing the finest holiday tradition Turkey Meal. It could have not been better. The entire meal exceeded our expectations in every way. We look forward to making Mission BBQ part of our Family’s Holiday Tradition every year! Thank you.
I have been to this place once. I love the Mission BBQ franchise. I visit different Mission BBQ locations in every new place. I am glad that this Sterling Mission BBQ still upholds the excellent Mission BBQ reputation. The staff were nice. The food tastes the same great quality. The manager also came out randomly and greeted me. I love it.

My wife had coupons for a free sandwich, so we both had pulled pork with coleslaw. A pretty simple sandwich that so many places do poorly. The meat was tender, moist and flavorful. The bun was soft, but held together well enough to contain the large serving of pork. I’m a fan of the Carolina vinegar sauce and this restaurant’s version is incredibly good.
Let’s not forget the staff - the cashier was friendly and helpful, making sure we got our order the way we preferred.
All in all, a great experience for a simple lunch.
