This is actually surprisingly good! I was looking for more of Taiwanese or Hawaiian shaved ice in northern Fairfax area but couldn't find one and decided to settle for snow cones and didn't expect much. Surprisingly, the ice is fine enough - I expected snow cone ice to be more chunky and crunchy, but it wasn't! It has the texture of shaved ice. Another nice surprise is the syrup - again, we were more used to all types of toppings (fruits, beans etc.) on the shaved-ice and almost snob the syrup; however, the mango syrup and the pineapple/pina syrup (the two flavor we got) with condense milk were actually pretty good! Summer is here; I think we will be happy to just come to Shalom Snowcone, which is just north of Reston, instead of driving to Rockville or Fairfax when we are craving for shaved ice. Happily recommend this place! Even though it is at the corner of a gas station and it is a food truck, it is totally fine with us! No need to pay extra to cover the cost of rent and utility for a shop!
