This BBQ was hands down the best I've ate. As soon as you pull up you get the smoke from the smoker and the food doesn't lack the wood smoke flavor all the way through most places use liquid smoke in NOVA and you can tell this is made with care by dedicated people. Mac and cheese corn bread baked beans I'd give a 10/10 especially those baked beans idk what recipe they use but they taste just like my great grandmother's and she would never tell anyone how she made them. Good Job to these guys and I will definitely be in touch for your catering options for my wedding coming up.

If I could give zero stars I would. This place was recommended by a trusted source but we were completely disappointed. The ribs tasted like lighter fluid and it was disgusting so we ended up throwing out $50 worth of meat in the garbage, so save yourself the time and money. The inside was dimly lit as was the parking lot, and the staff didn’t act liked they wanted our business. Never again.

Name a better chopped pork sandwich…. I’ll wait. Look at the picture of this behemoth. You can get that, side and drink for $13.99. I also got some rib tips (a fave of mine) but I couldn’t even get to those because the sandwich is so big. I’ve been going to this family spot since the days of their stand at Gilbert’s corner before they opened this spot! It’s worth every penny. They KNOW BBQ. Highly recommend.

First time customer that was designated to pick up a big order for an office of co-workers. The Pit Stop Barbecue in Sterling does not have an online order option on their website (hopefully they catch up with other establishments in the near future to make the ordering process easier), which was disappointing, so we had to call it in. The menu needs to be more descriptive for what's included in the food choices. Some of the food items listed on the menu state "and/or" but we confirmed with the establishment that it is "or" when choosing items in a combo. The lady over the phone was nice, patient and understanding for what we wanted. The drive there was about 34 minutes roundtrip. The food was ready when I arrived, and I paid for the food at the establishment. Due to my order being big (4 bags and 2 drinks), one of the older gentleman staff members helped me with my bags to my car which was appreciated. Very nice guy. Once I got the food back to the office, we all started tasting the food. The food was an overall 3.5 stars for everyone due to the following feedback from everyone:
1. The sweet potatoes were not sweet enough. 2. There is no sauce types listed on the menu. The establishment confirmed that they had different sauces, but they only had one sauce which was an in-house homemade sauce for the meats. Very deceiving. 3. The feedback was split on the mac and cheese. Some of us liked it and some thought the consistency of the mac and cheese was too heavy. It did not taste like it was homemade. 4. The white meat smoked chicken was very dry (not moist at all) and not cooked all the way. The inside of the smoked chicken was pink in the middle which was not to one of my co-workers liking. The smoked chicken had to be thrown away due to the disappointment. 5. The chicken wings were good and of good portion 6. The food portions were plentiful 7. The ribs were not top notch
Needless to say, that the food wasn't what we would expect of a barbecue joint. Will probably be the only time we try it.
Mr. Ron and family are super nice and the food is delicious. Every time my husband Chris and I stop to eat, our bodies are super happy. I personally love grandma's iced tea. Thank you everyone at the restaurant for being the best BBQ restaurant.
