YamaChen's Sushi

I ordered a couple of rolls for pickup because I was in the area, but YamaChen’s certainly warrants its own trip! We had the eel roll, shrimp tempura, and avocado/cucumber along with spring rolls. Everything was packaged with care, and we were surprised with edamame to enjoy with our meal. Everything was delicious, and we look forward to returning in the future.

We came here for a casual dinner near home and left incredibly satisfied. We had the spicy chicken appetizer and the sushi combo and all the food was fantastic. They also gave us spring rolls and a little desert on the house. Service was fantastic, the ambiance very relaxing and the food really really great! We will be coming more often!

I got the salmon roll. The salmon was fresh and there was a lot more fish than there was rice and seaweed (just the way I like it).

The two other sushi places in the north sterling area closed. This was recommended and it turned out to be very food. Prices are about what i expected and the menu is substantial.

We went for a little dinner. Got a couple rolls to share. Its a fun place with great decor and good sushi. Then they give you treats...some edemame, couple spring rolls, and little cheese cakes for dessert. I was not expecting any of that and it really made my experience that much better. Its a small business definitely worth supporting.

A must try place for authentic Sushi in Sterling area. The food and services were both top notch. They also tried to decorate per authentic Japanese style wooden interior style. I am sure Sushi lovers won’t regret being here.

Very peaceful, relaxing and delicious. This is a small gem in the northern Virginia. If you’re looking for either a quick bite or nice dinner with friends or family give there sushi a try!

Maybe it was off day or it was because it was the middle of the afternoon, but after reading such rave reviews I was really disappointed with the sashimi. Maybe that just isn’t what your order here? It’s not that the fish had gone bad, it was more like it tasted like it was frozen, defrosted, frozen and then defrosted again but not completely or not correctly - there was no texture and no flavor, it was a slices of fish that were just completely blah 😕

It would be one thing if it was just one of the fish, but it was every single one in the sashimi platter. The spicy tuna roll that came with it was average.

I did really like service, our waiter was friendly and attentive and super quick in getting us water - A+ there! And in a day and age when nothing is free I really enjoyed the free edamame and the complimentary digestive drink after the meal. That’s a nice touch ❤️

The restaurant itself could be pretty cool, but there were some serious cobwebs in the corners - I mean, like 3 feet long dangling in front of the windows - DUDE! I get they are up high but you need to clean those!

Would I recommend? I really want to love every sushi place I go to, but I like sashimi so if you can’t get that right, it’s a “no” for me.
