The only thing I might change on this rating is service. Not due to poor service but to make other people understand. The staff i dealt with tonight on christmas was short and direct, with the genuine attitude that comes from one who knows their craft. The food surpassed my chef wife's expectations and 3 kids cleared their plates. I have a new garunteed take out spot here in suffolk.

I’ll try to be as impartial as possible.
The place is a Peruvian spot, but I couldn’t find anything Peruvian except the advertisement.
I tried the ceviche, it was missing several items like cancha, mote, and flavors. It was tilapia with lots of cilantro and lemon - very bland and I barely eat half of it. 3 points out of 10.
Then I tried the lomo saltado, it was awful, full of grease, the meat was steamed rather than sautéed, no flavor. I couldn’t even eat the meat. 2.5 points out of 10.
The main problem is that most people haven’t tried real Peruvian food and don’t know thei difference. Even the servers (from Bangladesh) and the cook (Mexico) didn’t know some of the items that go into the dishes.
Whoever tried to say this is a Hispanic or Peruvian place needs to do a better job. They spelled “pollo” (chicken) as POLO, several times and decorated their walls as such.
Additionally, they made me try some type of soup or stew and it was just grease with lots of condiments, I couldn’t even taste the entire portion.

It breaks my heart to leave this review, as this has been my go to food spot since I first moved to Suffolk 2 years ago, but it has sadly gone way downhill since then. They used to have delicious vegetable sides, but sadly, both the mixed vegetables and green beans have been nerfed to the point of no longer tasting anything like they once did. In fact, they both now taste like the vegetables in microwaveable meals. Very disappointing. Sadly, the changes don't end there. Their fried rice used to be impeccable, but they managed to nerf that, as well. I just had a half-chicken meal and the fried rice I ordered as a side had a whopping ONE piece of chicken in it. It used to come loaded with chicken, egg, and vegetables, but today's rice only contained that single piece of chicken (which was quite small, to boot) with what appeared to be some generic microwaveable pieces of carrot. And, as if all this were not bad enough, this restaurant has changed one of the cornerstones of their food experience: their white sauce. In the past, the restaurant included small containers of spicy green sauce and a still somewhat spicy but less-so white sauce, both delicious accompaniments to their food. But today, I dipped my chicken in what I believed to be their signature white sauce only to bite into something completely inexcusable: ranch dressing. Yes. They actually cut corners with their signature sauce. I can't believe it. Those who have tasted the old sauce will recall that the white sauce originally tasted something like a spicy ranch-ish sauce, without actually being mere ranch. This, however, was just plain old ranch and DID NOT go with the food. This sin of flavor seems even worse when one considers that I considered getting a bowl or my usual favorite, Pollo Saltado instead of the half-chicken that I decided on and that I tend to pour the sauces directly on my food. If I had poured that ranch on top of my bowl or Pollo Saltado, thereby RUINING the flavor, I would have been LIVID. In fact, I would have angrily demanded a refund. This is absolutely unacceptable. Sadly, if my experience today accurately characterizes the direction of the restaurant, I do not see myself continuing to be a regular. What a disappointment! I expected way better from my (once) favorite restaurant!

I ordered lunch to go. I ordered a 3pc fried Trout, rice over beans (they charge a little extra for this), and green beans. Upon arriving home, I noticed that they gave me beans without rice. I brought them back to the store and showed my receipt. The guy was pretty polite, but he DUMPED SOME OF THE BEANS BACK INTO THE PAN and then added rice to the to-go container with the remaining beans. Isn't this a health code violation of some kind??? I was gone for 20 minutes before I returned. If I come back, everything that I eat will be made to order from the kitchen. Another thing that I overlooked was that the guy who rang us up (different from the one who served the food) was talking under his breath and seemed to be really irritated. They really need to give him a broom and put someone else up there who knows about customer service.

Chicken and fried rice were very flavorful. Pinto beans were bland. Tres leches was pretty decent but had a box mix taste to it which I’m not used to. I did not love the customer service from the guy who prepared my order and rung me up. I asked for extra sauce before being rung up but after I paid I saw in the bag that there was only one each of green and yellow sauce. I went back to the counter to ask again for extra sauce and was told he put it in the bag. I said there is only one of each, is that extra? He barely mumbled a response and finally gave me an extra set of sauce. Decent food. Weird vibe from dude.

I can’t speak to the quality of the food because we never got the chance to try it. We arrived about an hour before closing and were told the card system was down, and they were only accepting cash. We went to the ATM just outside to get cash and returned about 10 minutes later—only to find the doors already locked. Very disappointing experience.
