Trash quality all around. Slow service, un-fresh food, cold nachos, obviously from-the-jar salsa tasted like ketchup. Less than Applebee's quality. Beer selection is trash, especially for a taphouse.

My recent experience at Decent People Taproom with two close friends was, regrettably, quite disappointing. Our server, Nathan, demonstrated a level of service that could best be described as apathetic. There was a complete absence of the fundamental steps of service and no attempt to elevate the guest experience through engagement, recommendations, or attentiveness.

Although two of us had beer that we enjoyed, only one water was brought to the table upon direct request. Such oversights, while minor in isolation, collectively reflect a lack of care and professionalism.

The most disheartening moment occurred when my friend politely asked to exchange their jalapeño peppers, which were unexpectedly and overwhelmingly spicy (and they are someone who genuinely enjoys heat). Nathan’s sarcastic retort: “They’re jalapenos…” was dismissive and condescending, undermining her intelligence rather than offering assistance.

As someone who deeply values hospitality and understands the nuances of guest service, I found the experience discouraging. It was neither welcoming nor attentive, and ultimately, it ensures that this will be my last visit when I return to Virginia.

Amazing place, unfortunately they cannot keep staff. Then there’s the false advertising on taco night. Says all tacos $2 off. Not the case, I was told no brisket gets discounts. Which is cool as the brisket is amazing, but don’t post its $2 off when it’s simply not. When you ask they call you “petty.” Petty, that’s my $2. But whatever. They are extremely over priced anyway, hints why they stay slow.

Great place to eat, excellent food and super friendly staff. Nice atmosphere and outside seating area. Love all of the choices of beer on the tap wall. Extra points for the lunch specials!

Staff couldn't care less. Wings were inedibly disgusting, thankfully they were taken off the bill. Nachos came out cold. Onion rings were completely flavorless. Self pour system is not calibrated, was charging more than it was pouring.

The variety of beers here is definitely a positive and if you like to try many different beers, you will probably enjoy this spot. However, the food is just okay and fairly overpriced. In addition, it is very difficult to see the TVs to watch sports as they are located just so high in comparison to where the seats at least my family was sitting at.

A unique local spot with trivia and music bingo.... great food, so many local beers, and a super-friendly staff! Donna and her team clearly care about making sure you enjoy yourself! I will be back very soon.
