We eat breakfast here at least once a month and lunch whenever we can. Reasonable prices, great service, amazing food, comfortable atmosphere, and the chef is the best. You will not be disappointed.

My wife and I are from Texas and were visiting family in Suffolk and just came from the cemetery where my grandparents are buried at. We were looking for a place to eat. From the pictures that we saw of this place we agreed to go and try it. We ordered the burger with coleslaw, the liver and onions with collard greens and a shrimp and fry basket. The Wait Staff was awesome and had wonderful personalities. Lucky for us we were the only people sitting down since we arrived just after 2:00 PM. We were each given a piece of chocolate cake as well. The two Chefs most definitely know how to make liver and onions and collard greens. My wife had tried greens at various restaurants in Texas and just never liked them. She really liked the greens here and the chocolate cake as well. I told the Manager I presume " Kudos to the Chefs". I recommend that if anyone wants some Southern style food along with some true Southern hospitality to eat here. You won't be disappointed at all. We parked in the Public parking lot behind the restaurant. There is wheelchair accessibility here. The Manager informed us that some time before Thanksgiving they're cook for pickup and have calls from several towns in Virginia and North Carolina as well. I have no doubt at all about that.

This place is a hidden gem. Always a clean environment and cozy. Music appropriately playing so you can still hear everyone speaking at the table and the food is beyond amazing. The owners and staff are all super friendly and extremely accommodating! The chef is talented and does things right. Plating, freshness of food and just the way he prepares the meals, leaves me wanting to try everything on the menu. Awesome price too. Love them and what they are about!

Love Hollands and the fact that it has been owned by the same local family for years. The aesthetic, food and service are generally great and they long have been a staple in Suffolk!

I generally have a great experience, however at times the cook creates a very tense environment. He yells from the kitchen and his angry tone fills the dining room. It leaves everyone on edge and the servers are left to apologize for his behavior. His food is great, but the attitude not so much...

We were just passing through and decided to stop for breakfast. Food is fair, the servers are sweet and helpful. However, upon first walking in, the chef was hollering from the back that we had 5 min to order breakfast. Never addressing us just passive aggressive to the other staff. He hollered from the back time and time again during our 40 min there. It felt tense and that the waitresses were trying to make up for his lack of regard for the customers. Place has potential but cook needs some etiquette. It’s hard to get past that and enjoy eating here, it was uncomfortable and tense feeling. The chef shouldn’t be heard across the whole restaurant.

The waffles were delicious (may be too sweet for some others) and did not require syrup. The link sausage was savory and worth the $1.25 up charge. My over medium eggs were perfect and the French toast was delicious also (just the right amount of cinnamon and sweetness). The ham and cheese omelet was huge and yummy! (I sampled my family's food, lol). The service was great. I would definitely eat here again.

Oh my gosh!! This place has the best home cooked potatoes!!! The service was kind and attentive and the food tasted so good. A sprinkle of cinnamon on their pancakes, the breakfast sandwich was delicious and their breakfast sausage were the big links! So tasty!!

Waited 30 minutes before they even got me a menu or drink while they talked with people who weren’t even eating there. No service despite no one being in the restaurant. No thank you. Shrimp and grits were good once I got them. Will not return.
