Just stopped by Pressed Cafe. AWESOME spot. The inside is beautifully decorated, free WiFi and plenty of seating. Friendly service. Got the iced Twix latte, everyone needs one. Will be back again and again. Thank you Pressed!

My review is for takeout (via Door Dash). I can't speak for the atmosphere or service, since I wasn't in the store.

I ordered a turkey avocado sandwich, strawberry matcha and a berry smoothie.

$14.50 ($13.00 on their pick-up menu) for a very basic turkey & avocado sandwich that should be no more than $7-$8, plus a couple of dollars markup for delivery. It's toasted white bread (you can select other sliced bread or a wrap) Two thin slices of pre-packaged, low quality turkey meat, a bit of smashed up avocado, lettuce, tomato, mayo. It's super super basic.
For comparison, you can get a pretty decent turkey sandwich at Panera for a couple $ less, and it comes with more & better quality turkey, aged cheddar, mixed greens, tomato, red onions, avocado on thick sliced sour dough. So... 🤷 And I'm not even a huge Panera fan.

The Pressed Cafe sandwich tastes like something you rushed to pack as lunch for yourself as you were hurrying out the door for work. I'm not sure how someone actually felt OK about signing off on this pricing, or actually, even the sandwich itself.

Also, I'll add... The sandwich wasn't even sliced in half. (no option offered online) I had to cut it myself. A minor complaint, but still.

You know, I'm writing this review as I'm trying it eat this. And I can't. This may be the first time I've ever been depressed over a sandwich. I just tossed the remaining sandwich in the trash (just took three small bites).

Got an iced strawberry matcha - which was fine. It wasn't blended too well and I kept getting clumps of pasty matcha in the straw until I took it out of the cup & put it into another to give it a few violent shakes. It was serviceable. Needs more matcha flavor.

Berry smoothie was bland and needed some type of sweetener. I didn't see that option when ordering. Had to add simple syrup to make it slightly sweet. Tasted much better after that and I enjoyed the bits of blended berry seeds (some people don't, but I do).

Sooo... I'm pretty disappointed so far. I think there is room for improvement with the drinks. The cafe just needs to work on perfecting them. I'd say train staff on technique and execution. Maybe add more customization options online - not sure how it's set up on the store. Work on perfecting the drinks. There is potential here.

As for the sandwich, I'd advise removing it from the menu entirely. It's a lost cause. The food menu doesn't impress in general. Paninis and flatbreads might be a better option.

Focus on the drink options and then get better quality ingredients, more creativity and better execution for the food. Also, better tea and hot cocoa options. Off the shelf, grocery store stuff ain't it.

I saw where the owner mentioned they used Uncle Ben's rice in a response to a review. Um.. I think that if you're going to offer rice bowls, you need to focus on quality rice and include more in the bowl. Three Ladies Jasmine Rice is a high quality rice and you can buy it in bulk. It's probably cheaper at an Asian grocery or at a restaurant supply store.

I understand the difficulty in opening a new business and smoothing out the bumps. I'd like this business to succeed, as this area of Suffolk needs nice things like this. I think a big mistake new businesses make, is buying cheap ingredients and overlooking whether or not menu items are actually necessary or make sense. You can get a basic (and much better) turkey avo sandwich anywhere. Create something special and unique, with quality ingredients.

I believe places like this make their money on their drink/juice/coffee offerings. There's no reason to have overpriced, kid's lunch sandwiches on the menu.

The pumpkin caramel latte was divine.
I ordered a California veggie wrap in a tomato basil wrap and it was absolutely delicious.
The service was friendly and fast .
They even asked how the food was .

Having one of the most trying days of my life, and I just needed a coffee. What I got was an experience- a smile, greetings, helpfulness, kindness and a lasting impression of the new Cafe in my sister’s building. If you’re looking for great coffee, a staff with family friendliness, and an atmosphere that just feels comfy and cozy you need to stop by and give this place a try!!!! It’s an experience you have to have! Thank you Ni Ni for your amazing smile and greeting, you may not have known how bad my day was going…. But you sure did make it better. Thank you!

Maybe they are called pressed juice for a reason not known for their jarred/can food and minute rice and cold food.

The facebook page is very misleading. I went to order the shrimp melt and latte flight the cashier did not even know what I was talking about, photos for menu are AI generated the back end kitchen staff said. Last week when I went, there was not any pressed juices. I asked when it would be available and was told its made fresh daily, so when I came back first thing in the morning the next day I was told it should be available within two days. Seems to be very low staffed my orders have ranged from 5 minutes to 45 minutes. My wife loves the lattes, but has said the taste varies when she orders sometimes she’s told main ingredients aren’t in stock. Hoping this business can learn to be more truthful with their customers, inform their front end staff of what is going on, and hire more staff to deal with the long wait times.

I was SOOO excited to have a coffee shop in Suffolk, but my excitement diminished as soon as I walked in the door of Pressed. An employee, who was standing at the register basically shouted at me to scan the QR code to order. Then, they didn't have half of the things that were listed on the very small menu. I ended up ordering a drip coffee and a PACKAGED pound cake (she said that's what they meant by muffins on the menu), which was super dry. My total was $12, which means that packaged pound cake was over $6, but no prices were listed. I have been waiting for my coffee for more than 10 minutes now with not even so much as an apology or explanation. The teas offered are low-end grocery store teas and the hot cocoa is literally powdered swiss miss. I recommend amping up your customer service, selection and quality or you will be out of business in no time at all. Such a disappointment!

UPDATE: I left without my coffee 17 minutes in. The employee explained it was because of all of the other orders in front of mine as I looked around at a virtually EMPTY shop. Have fun with all those other invisible customers!
