Wow! Just wow! This hidden gem is a MUST VISIT! Dinner here was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The service was superb, the staff was very friendly and extremely attentive, I couldn't ask for better. We got the calamari and one of the appetizer specials. Both were awesome. The dipping sauce for the calamari was on another level! My friend and I both got platters, he got the 40 piece sashimi combo and I got the chef's choice platter. The food was absolutely stunning. The quality was immaculate, some of the best sushi I've had outside of Japan.I ordered dessert, got the blackberry swirl icecream, it was stunning! All in all an outstanding experience. I'll definitely be back and I cannot express how highly I recommend this place.Parking: Streetside parking near the restaurant and around the corner. Not as nice as having a dedicated lot but not bad.Kid-friendliness: We saw a family with kids but I would say in general this place has more of a date night atmosphere than a kids place unless your kids really like sushi.

Excellent! We've been dying for a real sushi spot....Finally! Everything was fabulous! We had the chef's sashimi/sushi combo, uni soup, toro, cheesecake- try it all! Fish was fresh, there was a wonderful selection. Our waitress was also so sweet. My only complaint is that we did pay for something that we never received as we ordered a lot, so something got lost in the shuffle of bringing many dishes out. We will still return, we absolutely enjoyed our meal!

I’ve been here three times so far and it’s always amazing. The service, food and ambience is just perfect whether you’re on a date or out with coworkers. They usually have Toro (fattier tuna cut) and last night we were able to try Wagyu beef for the first time, which was definitely worth trying. This place is an experience worth talking about. From the appetizers and cocktails (the bahn mi, the Hiroshima heat, the rappongi etc) to the entrees and the sushi (salmon with shitaki risotto), it’s delicious. Make sure to try the specials too!You can spend $100 and have a great dinner, but I highly recommend making this restaurant a special occasion and going all out. Their selection is one of the best. Trust the chef and the servers. They’ll take care of you!Parking: You’ll likely find parking on the street the restaurant is on, depending on the day/time. If not, there are multiple parking areas within a block or so.

Small place probably a little understaffed so service was slow but we weren't in any hurry. Food was great. Older building/space repurposed into this restaurant.

We are new to the area and were excited to find a new sushi place. INCREDIBLE food and experience. The presentation was beautiful. The atmosphere is beautiful. The service was fantastic and what we most noticed was how thick the fish slices were, they do not skimp on anything!!!Looking forward to visiting you all again, thanks!

Very delicious food and a great staff! The menu isn’t insanely huge so it makes deciding a lot easier. The drinks were good and food was delicious!Dietary restrictions: Gluten and dairy free options

Be aware!!!! First and last time….Ordered California roll, was told full of crab meat by waitress. If it was crab meat it had to artificial. Ordered pork dumpling soup. Did not taste like restaurant food, tasted like something at someone’s house, basic. Ordered glass of Riesling. This was the best thing on the menu, glass size pretty large. Biggest issue waitress by the name of Christine automatically kept my change. I did not give her permission to keep my change!!!Parking: Street parking

I had some o toro, chu toro, uni, and a few rolls. Toro and uni have been hard to come by so having them both was great. You can tell that the chefs have been trained in traditional japanese sushi by the implementation of oba leaf, locally sourced seafood and Japanese mayo in maki. The food was great and deserving of 5 stars. However…. (Sorry i’m a tough critic), the rice was less than perfect. The grains were too long and packed too densely when used in the nigiri patties and maki. Unfortunately it was served at or bellow room temperature which exaggerated the starchy taste and feel that often accompanies long grained rice. I honestly believe (want to believe) that this was a fluke. Everything else was just so perfect.

The most authentic sushi and sashimi place I ever tasted here in Virginia! We were station in Japan for 3 years and I fall in love with their culture, place and food. We’ve been here 5 years now, so far this is the best place I found. This place is so amazing and so authentic sushi, specially the sashimi! AKA is local and own by the chief that work closely with the famous Japanese sushi chef from NYC! I don’t know if you’re that craze with sushi and sashimi to drive an hour away but it’s all worth it! It’s the closest one from authentic Japanese sushi and sashimi! From their salad, appetizer, main course, up to dessert (red bean cream brûlée) ! Even their alcohol is really good!.Highly recommended!
