Arrived late Sunday evening with a group of six. We each had something different, food was great. Loved the chocolate fondue for dessert.

Very disappointed. Waited all day to get awesome food. Was great in the past. Something has changed?? Kitchen staff maybe?? Beef stroganoff meat had bones, fat and grissel in it. Sauce was sour. Even the noodles were weird. Wife and I both ordered it because of past meals being great. Service was slow to be very nice about it. Had to ask for silverware to Two different people. One replied " you can't eat with your hands?" Didn't find it amusing. Live and learn. Won't be back. Waste of $50. Women's bathroom toilet broken. Men's room lock has been broken for months? Sad to see this!!!

My best friend and I visited The Mod Olive over the weekend and it was soooooo lovely. The atmosphere, service, entree’s, and portion size was amazing. Our server, Melinda, was delightful, patient and very down to earth. She answered questions and had a wonderful spirit. The decor was beautiful and the food!??! That chef was in there cheffing!! 🤣 the food was reasonably priced. I ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes and the Honey Brie sandwich with a side of Mediterranean Pasta Salad. Everything was soooooooo good. It was an all around enjoyable experience. Can’t wait to return. 10/10

Not my 1st time but my last time going here. Food was awful. Food was rotton, rancid and cold. When I complained and asked for a manager the waitress apologized for everything but no manager was on duty. A worker told me the owner doesn't even care about this place anymore because he has a new place at the Arts Center down the street. They need to do better or shut it down.

We had such a great experience visiting the Mod Olive - from the welcome at the door, the service, the food, and the atmosphere. Loved the music and the vibe.
We got the Southern Bowl (w/ the chicken & scrambled eggs) and the Meatzilla Omelet.
Both were good - only changes we would have made is to add cheddar to the omelet (a little cheesier 😊) and a little more sausage gravy on the bowl (not that it wasn't sufficient, it was just GOOD 😁). The coffee was fresh and good.
The service is always what makes the experience best for us and they did not disappoint - We felt well cared for with Deveonna!

Food is always wonderful. Music too loud at some tables. Friendly service. But why post a phone number, don't answer, and leave the phone mailbox full so a message can't be left ? The website has a way to call but it's only for Android phones. (Nov 5 2024)

Not only was the atmosphere amazing but so was the food for the price. The young lady that waited served us was so charming, an outstanding. The food met more than exceeded my expectations. Could not believe how much they gave me an I ordered soft scrambled eggs with bacon hash brown casserole and toasted sourdough bread. An they were not skimpy on the bacon or the rest of my meal for the price. My guest friend ordered the sausage gravy biscuits and I toasted a bite an the sincere love I felt just melted my heart. Most places I go to when you order gravy and biscuits all you can taste is flour. The gravy and biscuits at the MOD Olive not only covered a full plate but the sausage gravy covered the biscuits where you could hardly even see the biscuits, it was just so much then we expected. My guest was very impressed as I was. If I ever return to Suffolk, Virginia, I will definitely be visiting this restaurant time and time again an it will be my only stop for eating out in Suffolk, Virginia. Sincere thanks ...!

GET BETTER COOKS WHO CARE ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE SERVING...ALSO YOU NEED A MANAGER ON DUTY ON THE EVENING SHIFTS TOO. THE FOOD USE TI BE GREAT BUT NOW ITS AWFUL. FOOD COMES OUT ROTTON AND ICE COLD.
I am extremely disappointed in the service I received tonight on an order I placed for pickup. When I got home with my order, I opened the bag and saw the chicken tenders and waffle fries were put in the styrofoam to-go box with no aluminum foil on the bottom. The chicken tenders smelled and tasted like burnt plastic, as well as the waffle fries. I had to throw both boxes away.
I really enjoyed my experience there.

Tried this place today (10-2-224). AM ordered the meatzilla omelet with the hash brown casserole and a side of sausage gravy with a biscuit. Th sausage gravy tasted like canned sausage and gravy. The biscuit tastes old and stale. The meat in the omelet tasted like leftover from the day before and to top it all off the food was not at the proper temperature for service. The only thing positive I have to say about this place is that the waitress are all friendly and very attentive to your needs
