I've only been twice and I had the same thing, the beef stroganoff. Great example of type. The noodles were cooked al denté and the stroganoff was deep and flavorful. The beef was tender and the sauce highlighted all the ingredients.
The salad though! Huge salad before the main appeared. Ate the salad for a while and it seemed almost the same size. No iceberg, just salad greens and friseé. Corn, tomatoes, and cucumbers. A bit of onion would be good for me but not everyone likes that. Cherry tomatoes were sliced so you don't have to negotiate with the tomato before you poke it with a fork.
Service was sharp and attentive. The server thoughtfully brought a lot more napkins.
I sit at the counter, single diner, didn't want to take a whole table.
Lovely decor, add to the whole experience.
You should go there if you're in downtown Suffolk.

I walked into The Mod Olive today with a friend expecting decent service and left completely disgusted. What I got instead was the kind of blatant disregard that makes you question why you even bothered. We were seated, but for 10 full minutes no one even came to our table. Servers kept walking by, making eye contact, and flat-out ignoring us like we didn’t exist. Finally, someone took our drink order. That took another 10 minutes to arrive. Orange juice. That’s it. And it still came late.
We placed our food order and sat there for 45 minutes. No food. No update. No apology. No explanation. Tables around us got seated after us, served before us, and were nearly finished eating while we sat there hungry and invisible. It was embarrassing and infuriating. To walk out on an empty stomach after nearly an hour of waiting with nothing but disrespect and a watery orange juice is ridiculous.This is a day that’s supposed to be about freedom, respect, and honoring Black dignity. The irony of being ignored, overlooked, and served dead last on this day is not lost on me. This isn’t just bad service. It’s unacceptable and offensive. Especially when your phone line doesn’t work and there’s no one held accountable. I will never step foot in this establishment again and I’ll make sure others know what kind of experience to expect.

Very disappointed. Waited all day to get awesome food. Was great in the past. Something has changed?? Kitchen staff maybe?? Beef stroganoff meat had bones, fat and grissel in it. Sauce was sour. Even the noodles were weird. Wife and I both ordered it because of past meals being great. Service was slow to be very nice about it. Had to ask for silverware to Two different people. One replied " you can't eat with your hands?" Didn't find it amusing. Live and learn. Won't be back. Waste of $50. Women's bathroom toilet broken. Men's room lock has been broken for months? Sad to see this!!!

My best friend and I visited The Mod Olive over the weekend and it was soooooo lovely. The atmosphere, service, entree’s, and portion size was amazing. Our server, Melinda, was delightful, patient and very down to earth. She answered questions and had a wonderful spirit. The decor was beautiful and the food!??! That chef was in there cheffing!! 🤣 the food was reasonably priced. I ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes and the Honey Brie sandwich with a side of Mediterranean Pasta Salad. Everything was soooooooo good. It was an all around enjoyable experience. Can’t wait to return. 10/10
