About Burke’s Garden General Store
Recent Reviews
My husband and I stopped at Burkes Garden to see the area and it didn’t disappoint! The General Store was awesome. There were so many home made goodies and beautiful examples of Amish craftsmanship. We’ll be stopping by this week and have budgeted money just to purchase things from the store as Christmas gifts. Make sure to save some room for lunch. The folks that work here are kind and very welcoming. The area and store made a lasting impression on us.
The Amish workers here are always friendly and welcoming.

Nestled in the heart of the community, Burkes Garden General Store is a charming establishment that caters to the diverse needs of the area's residents and visitors. From sandwiches and candies to artisan crafts, the store offers a little bit of everything. The homemade ham, pepper jack, and garden-fresh tomato sandwich with spicy mustard on freshly baked bread is a local favorite and possibly one of the best sandwiches one can find. The store also serves delicious hamburgers, which have received high praise. With cash/check-only payment and more than fair prices, the store is a delightful stop for those exploring the scenic motorcycle routes or bicycle trails in the region. Visitors are encouraged to be mindful of the horse-drawn buggies and the challenging southern exit road, which is best suited for experienced Jeep and adventure bike enthusiasts. While the kitchen is closed on TUE & THU for family reasons, the staff is known for their kindness, often preparing meals like ham and cheese sandwiches on sourdough bread for customers. The store offers a full selection of soft drinks, bulk candies for kids, and unique items like hand-carved birdhouses. Overall, it is a lovely place to chat and enjoy a great meal, especially in the beautiful fall season.
