I stopped at Happy Goat on a trip from DC and was happily surprised! The space is really nice and comfortable, and the customer service was great. I’m gluten free so don’t often get to eat at delis, but they had delicious gluten free bread and a ton of options! I ordered a turkey sandwich and thought it was delicious - it was not dry and the cheese was perfectly melted. They also gave me two smaller sandwiches to make up for the smaller gluten free bread! I highly recommend and will be returning :)

What a gem right in the middle of Tazewell! I had a delicious chicken wrap w walnuts and cranberries. Service was cheerful and the atmosphere was homey. Local artists are highlighted decorating the walls. Coolest thing the promotion of group hikes! They even sell hiking gear! Go Go go on over to Happy Goat!

Had a great visit, staff were friendly, food was delicious. Restaurant as a whole was clean. We ordered Italian wedding soup, the reuben and a spicy Italian. All were excellent. No fountain drinks, just cans or bottles. Prices weren’t cheap, but quality was high. I loved the decor and the view of downtown. We would definitely return.
The Hot Dogs are the best in the Nation! Homemade Chili, beef wieners, fresh buns and choice of slaw, kraut, onions as topping. Other sandwiches are also yummy. Glad I live in Tazewell!
