Drove from Richlands Va to Tazwell Va and had the best deli meal at the Happy Goat. The deli sandwiches are stacked full of fresh cut Boars Head meat. Had a hot pastrami and a ham and cheese sandwiches. I also recommend a side of chili and a side of homemade potato salad. This is a great place, very clean and welcoming. Last but not least the staff, Joe and Janetta ( hope the spelling is correct) could not have been more gracious. What an enjoyable lunch. I moved to Virginia from Upstate New York and this place reminds me of a New York deli. I will be a returning customer.

Delicious food, soups and sandwiches were awesome! They use Boars Head deli meat, absolutely our favorite when we get it in the store. We spoke with the owner and one of his employees for quite some time. Very kind people and you can tell they love what they do.

This was my first visit and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and it was clean. My only complaint is I felt that the sandwiches were slightly overpriced for what we got. Overall a good small business to visit though!

We stopped for a quick bite. The sandwiches are very good for a light lunch. We will definitely go there for lunch when we drive up to Tazewell.

Walking distance from the back of the Dragon brewery I was looking for some good food, as I came across this neat little place. Walking in the restaurant was pleasantly clean and the staff was very nice. I ordered two of their sandwiches to-go which were delicious. Also offering a few hiking accessories and happy goat merc to look at while they prepare your order. Overall it's a nice little sandwich shop and the only downfall I seen was that prices were a little steep, coming in around $10 per sandwich. But a good place to grab something in a hurry.

We started our stay in Tazewell with a nice Happy Goat salad and chili dogs. The cafe is a large space and was going to be running a salsa dance event/class that evening which looked like fun when we passed later in the evening. Nice local art gallery on the walls, and a curated selection of hiking equipment - packs, hammocks etc. The owner gave us excellent suggestions for other places to visit around the area.

Best tuna fish sandwich I ever had. The bread was all warm and toasty but the lettuce and tomato still cool and crisp. Very friendly staff. Oh and I eat their slaw dogs all the time- yum!
