Always a nice place for brunch.

Been going here for decades. New owners have if anything improved the quality.

Fantastic food, well thought out flavors and a small menu shows they really care about doing things right. Some of the best food I've had in a really long time. The Asian duck roll appetizer was some of the best duck I've had since I was in Beijing.

Really good food.
It gives nothing to some plates I've tried in much more fancy places.
Just the bread is incredible.

If you are like us and look at pictures of this place and the food. You will see that the food looks amazing! The inside of the place will leave you wanting though. I get that they are going for a southern rustic look but for the quality of food they put out... It doesn't match up. I feel they could class it up a bit and still keep the vibe they want. That being said, the food was AMAZING! You MUST visit. We will for sure be visiting again.

Server was rude and the steaks were a bad cut very tuff and gristly. Had heard good things about this restaurant but was sadly disappointed and it’s a shame they add a 20 percent gratuity when there’s more than 6 people cause that made our server lazy, he already knew he was getting the money and didn’t need to give good customer service!

Had the brunch rail stop namesake Burger. The from the bun to the burger to the bacon was lovely. Staff attentive and quick. Well worth the stop over!

The Rail Stop has a very unassuming vibe, but don’t be fooled, everything was fantastic on all levels! The service, pan seared chicken and steak entrees, plus the crème brûlée dessert were all standouts and hold a flame to the popular spots in the city. We’ll absolutely be back soon!

Late in posting ! I had my 40 th High School Reunion at The Rail Stop and it was a 10 out of 10! Every single course that each of us had was fabulous and the service was fantastic! We were a high maintenance table and Diane took such good care of us! I highly recommend The Rail Stop!

My wife found an intriguing article about this place so we gave it a go on a Saturday afternoon. The Plains, Virginia is a quaint destination about an hour west of DC and worth the trip. The Rail Stop not so much. Nice decor, simple lunch menu, not much to go wrong. My traditional club sandwich on sourdough bread was decent; my wife's grilled salmon club sandwich was bland and underwhelming. We snuck out of their for about 50 bucks including tip for lunch, which is a tad pricey even for the Plains. Will certainly give it another try for dinner before writing this restaurant off as a somewhat pricey venue with middling fare.

Stopped in for lunch. They have a very small menu and the food is average. Cute place though.
