⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dinner at Merroir was a total win. The shrimp was out of this world fresh, honestly the best I have ever had. You could taste the difference in every bite. The atmosphere had that laid back coastal vibe that makes you want to stay for hours. It felt both casual and special at the same time. Dinner overall was fantastic, from the flavors to the presentation. Everything just felt thoughtful and well done. Definitely a place I will be going back to.

Lawd have mercy... dem phenomenal! Fresh, juicy, full up wid flava — like dem drop straight outta di sea an land pon mi plate. Mi coulda eat dem all day, no lie. Vibes did super chill too — breeze a blow, wata glistenin, whole place just easy an irie. Di server did cool an friendly, treat we like family. Nuh rush, just pure good energy an good food. If yuh ever inna di area, yuh cyaah miss dis spot. Merroir a di truth, mi tell yuh. Nuff respect to di chef an crew — mi definitely a come back!

You’ll be bitten by bugs non stop, your fish is going to be terrible, tough, unloved, and your POE boy will arrive on a Kroger hot dog bun. This place will make you value home- cooking and is the worst restaurant experience I’ve spent $$ at in a long time and I wish I had asked for a refund.

Nice setting, beautiful views, great staff. The food was very small portions, not very tasteful and very, very overpriced. 2 entrees, small portions no side veggies, 1 salad split and 4 beers over $100.00. Left hungry. We are not big eaters l, and usually leave with left overs. Guess we could have ordered more, but not at their prices. Won't go back.

My wife and I ate here last Friday to celebrate Father’s Day weekend and her birthday. This was our first stop when we arrived to the Northern Neck.
First of all, this location is as picturesque as it gets. They’ve done everything perfectly as well to take advantage of the beauty of the mouth of the river. Whoever is responsible for the grounds is very talented!
For the food, we had Oysters of course which rivaled the best I’ve had in coastal Maine. Very fresh and delicious. Ceviche was incredible as well, A for execution. I don’t usually order this many things but saw that they had Watermelon-Mint Jalapeño Gazpacho and had to try it. Holy crap that was amazing. I need that recipe! lol.
Unfortunately the entrees were not as impressive. My wife had the scallops and they were delicious but you got 4 small to medium scallops with a little bit of grilled corn and sauce. That’s more of an app it seems but oh well. The only major disappointment was the Rockfish special. My fourth or fifth time getting it at restaurants and this was by far the worst. The fish itself was edible but oversalted. Every bite just tasted like table salt. I could be wrong but it also didn’t seem incredibly fresh. It wasn’t flaky and had a dense slightly oily texture which I don’t recall from other times ordering it. Equally as disappointing was the sad yellowish green overcooked asparagus and handful of white beans underneath it as the accompaniment.
Our waitress was very friendly and worked very hard. She was stretched thin so I can’t blame her for our check taking a long time to arrive at the end.
I definitely will be back. My only feedback is the Rockfish. Everything else was stellar and memorable for my wife and I. Definitely visit this place. Rating a 4 due to entrees being off the mark but the rest of the experience was stellar.

Beautiful atmosphere and friendly team. Had a large group and items came out very quickly. We ordered a little bit of everything and enjoyed all of our food! We talked about the stuffing muffin for the rest of the day (kept reordering it) thanks for having us!

Had been looking forward to try this place and it did not disappoint. It’s in a very nice spot that sits next to a marina and right on the Rappahannock river with some lovely views. The food was very good (had the Seafood Roll and my wife had the Crab cake). Do yourselves a favor and check this place out.

We celebrated our 39th Anniversary at Merroir and it was an unforgettable experience! The atmosphere was amazing and the food, wine and dessert delicious. Our server made the experience even more delightful and took a picture of us to help commemorate the night. We will be back!
We love Merroir. Unfortunately tonight was an off night for the kitchen. The raw oysters were delicious the burrata app was excellent the soup of the day was tasty. Unfortunately all of us had a fried oyster dinner either po boy or fried platter. All of the oysters were either over cooked or burnt. None of us finished our meal. Our server was so sweet and we were not interested in sending them back. We just chalked it up to a bad night. We will not get anything friend again.

You can't get a better view on the norther neck of Virginia. The food was great. I recommend the stuffin muffin. In fact if you go and don't try it, you will regret it. Decent wine selection. Weather permitting you should sit outside and enjoy the view.
