Tonight we had a great birthday dinner experience with our outstanding waiter Grant. He was thoughtful, conscientious and anticipated our needs. He even led our birthday song! The food was outstanding - every dish was prepared to perfection and with creative presentation. Thanks to 801 and Grant for a wonderful evening.

Very nice steakhouse! Not too busy in Saturday night. Service and food was great for a party of 14. Recommend the prime as it was excellent. They did have trouble with two steaks getting the "medium" right as they were "well" but they accommodated with new ones. Nice place to go in Tysons. Parking is underground and they do validate your parking.

Enjoyed my birthday dinner here. I didn’t even know the steakhouse existed until I just walked in for a planned birthday dinner. The steak was incredible and servers were knowledgeable. The manager came and check on us multiple times throughout the meal and the night couldn’t have been better but then you add a Brooklyn chocolate cake!!!! Please go, this easily might be the best steakhouse in the DMV!!!!

Excellent friendly and attentive service with a decent happy hour. I got the 801 burger which was massive... too big to eat like a burger, honestly. But once I attacked it with a knife and fork it was delicious. Juicy, good sauce, good cheese and a great crust.

801 Chophouse is a top-tier dining experience that exemplifies everything you could want in a classic steakhouse. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance is luxurious and refined, with a timeless, old-school vibe that sets the stage for a memorable meal. Dark wood, leather booths, and impeccable service create an atmosphere that feels both intimate and upscale.
The menu is, of course, all about the steak, and 801 Chophouse delivers with some of the finest cuts you’ll find anywhere. Whether it’s a perfectly cooked ribeye, filet mignon, or a dry-aged strip, the steaks are expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. Beyond the steak, the sides are equally impressive—creamed spinach, garlic mashed potatoes, and lobster mac & cheese are all elevated versions of classic favorites.
One of the highlights of the experience is their Smoked Old Fashioned. It’s a masterfully crafted cocktail, with a deep, smoky aroma that perfectly complements the richness of the steak. It’s easily one of the best drinks on the menu, and I sincerely hope it stays on the menu for a long time.
Seafood lovers won’t be disappointed either, with options like fresh oysters, shrimp cocktail, and an indulgent lobster tail. The wine list is extensive and well-curated, offering a great selection to pair with any meal.
What really sets 801 Chophouse apart is the attention to detail and service. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring that every aspect of the meal is flawless. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just in the mood for an exceptional steak, 801 Chophouse is a dining experience that never disappoints. It’s a true destination for anyone who appreciates fine food, great service, and a sophisticated atmosphere.
Parking: They told me that for now valet will be free through November. Also they validate for the first 2 hours of parking which is perfect!

My husband and I went to 801 Chophouse on a Tuesday evening for our anniversary. It wasn’t busy and they seemed to be pretty well staffed. My husband had added a note to the reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, so the hostess sprinkled confetti on the table before we sat down. It was a nice touch, but it would have been better had the server recognized that we were celebrating and said something.
The food was mostly good. My filet mignon was overcooked, which was disappointing.
After dinner, the server asked if we would like the dessert menu. We of course said yes because we were celebrating our anniversary. He brought us the menu and warned us that if we ordered one of the soufflé desserts to take into account the 20 minutes for them to make it from scratch. He then left us with the menu to discuss.
We decided we would order two of the other dessert options that wouldn’t take so long to prepare, but then our waiter did not come back to take our order for another 20 minutes. What if we had wanted the soufflé?!
By the time he finally came back to take our order, we were tired and needed to get home to relieve the babysitter. So we said we would pass on dessert, even though we had fully planned to get order some. The waiter seemed annoyed with us and grabbed the menu in a huff.
We paid and left, feeling pretty disappointed in the whole experience, and especially that our waiter’s negligence had prevented us from getting dessert. There was no excuse for the waiter not to be attentive, seeing as it was a quiet Tuesday evening.
Unfortunately, we will not be going back to 801 Chophouse because of this experience, even though it is very close to our home and would have been a nice addition to our rotation of neighborhood restaurants.
