Great food! Wonderful staff!

We had lunch here today and the food was AMAZING! The staff were just as amazing we will be back often ♡

New management is wonderful, wait staff is on point, kitchen is back to what it should be, maybe even better!! Everything we have tried has been delicious and cooked perfectly! Prices are very reasonable and you will leave well satisfied!

They are over priced n the food sucks...

We stopped in last night to watch a little football and received great service and had some delicious appetizers in the bar area. Plenty of TVS and several different games on. We have always enjoyed dining in the main dining room at the Kennon House, but are glad to have options for more casual dining as well. Love the atmosphere on both sides! So glad you are there!

Some of the best food you will find around Southern Virginia, Lake Gaston, and Northern North Carolina. Everything is cooked to order just the way you request it. Full bar also. Can’t go wrong by eating dinner here.

Food was OUTSTANDING! I even got a plate to go for my husband. Bartender kept his beers coming, and I had the best Angus Burger! Thank you Kennon House!!

We had not been to Kennon House in years, but went back recently because we had heard the new management had made significant changes. We had an incredible experience. The food was excellent and the portions were generous. The seared tuna appetizer was more than enough for four of us to enjoy and had just the right amount of heat and flavor. Our server (Shirley) was an absolute joy - pleasant, extremely responsive, and very helpful with the menu items. We all truly enjoyed the dinner and will go back often!

Well we use to come here all the time and were disappointed that it had closed and was hoping for something better with the new owner but got shocked. We have only been in for the buffet but for the price and the door is not worth it. It’s the same items from before and the price is too much. 30 a person is expensive for buffet and I don’t mined paying it as long as there are good food on the buffet. I know that they are in business to make money but a 12 year old 30 buck to eat is crazy. The food taste was way too plain and too simple to charge that price. After coming here for years we had to find somewhere else to go eat and it’s sad because we could walk here to eat

This place is not it. I hate to leave bad reviews, but I do not recommend this place. Slow service. Very overpriced and under seasoned food.

I recently visited Kennon House Restaurant & Sports Bar and asked for a vegetable platter, even though it wasn't on the menu. I was blown away by the response! Chef Erskine put together an incredible assortment of fresh and perfectly prepared veggies and fruits.

The platter included crispy fried okra, beautifully grilled zucchini, asparagus and sliced tomatoes, sautéed cabbage that was crispy and seasoned just right. To top it off, there were sweet strawberries and juicy red grapes that added a refreshing touch to the dish. Every item on the plate was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented.

It’s rare to find a restaurant that goes above and beyond to accommodate special requests with such care and creativity. This dish was not only delicious but also a testament to the kitchen's flexibility and commitment to customer satisfaction. It’s different to say the least.

If you come with an open mind it’s great. The bar tenders didn’t know basic drinks but their service was kind that you just roll with it.

Shirley was our waitress and we adored her. She was as sweet as they come and had such a good heart. You can tell she loves what she does and wants to spread the joy to her customers.

The food for a backroads country place was very very good. Everything was fresh and flavors were good.

It’s quirky that’s for sure but it has charm and fresh food.

Hours are odd so hopefully the sign helps when you plan to go. And good luck on which door you choose to go in. They all lead to somewhere good.
